A focused Japanese TTS family for developers needing embedded and cross-platform deployment.

AquesTalk is a Japanese text-to-speech technology family for developers building applications, desktop tools, web experiences, and embedded systems. It combines speech engines including AquesTalk1, AquesTalk2, and AquesTalk10 with Japanese text analysis through AqKanji2Koe. The product supports Windows, Linux, Android, macOS, iOS, web use, and API access, making it suited to teams that need Japanese speech across several deployment targets rather than a multilingual service.
Licensing is organized around specific engines, use cases, operating systems, and release versions instead of a conventional subscription structure. The AquesTalk1 Development License for Personal Use starts at ¥1,980 as a one-time purchase and is limited to the current release version. The AquesTalk1 Use License costs ¥6,380 one time for permanent internal-system use, while the Commercial Content Use License covers commercial content creation for one year and includes AquesTalk1, AquesTalk2, AquesTalk10, and AqKanji2Koe. AquesTalk2 and AquesTalk10 also have permanent internal-use licenses, with separate server licensing required for internet-facing use.
Its strongest fit is technical integration: developers can use embeddable C-function speech interfaces, platform libraries, command-line and batch processing, user dictionaries, and embedded deployment without an operating system. AquesTalkPlayer adds Japanese text reading and WAV export. That breadth supports applications needing local or embedded speech, but the product remains focused on one language and requires paid licensing for applicable development and commercial scenarios. Choose it for Japanese-specific application or device deployment; consider a different tool when multilingual output or a simpler subscription model is the priority.

- Paid licensing is required for development and commercial use
- Some server and OS-specific uses need separate licensing
