Aptabase review
A low-cost, cross-platform option for event analytics without persistent user identification.

Aptabase is an open-source analytics platform for mobile, desktop and web applications. It is aimed at developers and small teams that want usage insights from selected events without collecting personal data. Its SDK coverage includes iOS, Android, macOS, web, game frameworks and several development frameworks, while the platform supports both hosted and self-hosted deployments. Analytics can include event properties, sessions, app versions, operating systems, devices and countries.
The pricing structure is event-based and billed monthly. The Free plan allows up to 20,000 events per month across unlimited apps and includes a built-in dashboard, Live View Dashboard, Session Timeline and CSV export. Paid plans start at $10 per month for 200,000 events and rise through $20 for 1,000,000, $40 for 2,000,000, $75 for 5,000,000, $140 for 10,000,000, $240 for 20,000,000 and $300 for 30,000,000 events per month. Paid tiers include EU or US data residency, SDKs for popular platforms and no overage fees.
Aptabase’s strongest fit is event-level product analytics with a privacy-focused operating model. It supports anonymous analytics without cookies or device identifiers, plus debug and release build modes and exports for further analysis. The trade-off is analytical depth: its anonymous model does not provide user-level metrics such as per-user retention or funnels. Teams that need real-time event activity, broad SDK coverage, residency choices and predictable event-based pricing should consider Aptabase. Teams that depend on funnel analysis, retention reporting or persistent user-level analysis should choose a product designed around those capabilities instead.
