Apple Music Playlist Playground is an AI playlist-generation feature inside the Apple Music app. It is designed for Apple Music subscribers who want to describe a mood, genre, activity, or era and receive a curated starting point. Each request creates 25 suggested tracks and a custom playlist title, with options to save the result to Apple Music. The feature is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android for subscribers age 13 and older.

Pricing follows Apple Music’s subscription plans. The Student plan costs $6.99 per month and includes Apple Music access and Apple TV. The Individual plan costs $11.99 per month and adds over 100 million songs, offline downloads, Spatial Audio and lossless audio, and Apple Music Classical. The Family plan costs $19.99 per month and includes Individual-plan access, Family Sharing, and personal libraries, recommendations, and playlists. Apple One costs $21.95 per month and bundles Apple Music with other Apple services. There is no free plan, so Playlist Playground is most suitable for people already choosing a paid Apple Music tier.

Its main strength is the combination of natural-language generation and playlist editing. After generating a playlist, subscribers can rename it, reorder tracks, and add or remove songs instead of keeping the initial selection unchanged. That makes it useful for refining a quick listening list around a specific context. The trade-off is a narrow ecosystem fit: it saves generated playlists to Apple Music and does not connect with other streaming services. The feature is also beta, limited to the United States and English. Apple Music subscribers in that audience should consider it for prompt-based playlist creation and editing; listeners who need another streaming platform should choose an alternative.
