Our verdict on Applanga

Applanga, now branded GlobalLink Strings, is a cloud-based translation management system for software, apps, and games. It is designed for product teams, developers, translators, and designers managing localization content, reviews, screenshots, and delivery across web, desktop, mobile, and development environments. Mobile and game teams are a particularly strong fit because the platform combines in-context editing with mobile SDKs, design-tool plugins, screenshot management, and integrations for Unity, Flutter, React Native, Xamarin, iOS, and Android.

Pricing follows a free and paid structure. The Free Trial includes translation workflows, an in-context editor, translation memory, a REST API, and chat and email support, with a 14-day trial period. Pro costs €500 per month and adds translation ordering, a glossary, user groups, backups, and Jira integration. Growth expands monthly active users and API calls, team members, projects, and branches per project, with responses within 12 hours. Enterprise adds customized usage and members, 24/7 global enterprise support, custom SLAs, a dedicated account manager, custom SSO/SAML support, and custom workflow setup and documentation. Teams should compare the Pro cost with their localization volume before choosing it.

The platform’s ecosystem is a major part of its appeal. REST API access, CLI support, GitHub Actions integration, webhooks, and workflow statuses support continuous localization and delivery automation, while Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and Jira connect design and project work. Translation memory and glossary management help standardize approved language, and translation ordering through TransPerfect extends the workflow beyond internal coordination. Applanga is a strong choice for teams that need connected localization operations across products and platforms. Smaller teams seeking only basic translation storage or a lightweight translation handoff may find its workflow breadth and Pro price difficult to justify.
