Our verdict on Amp Room
Amp Room is Softube’s plugin platform for guitar and bass production on macOS and Windows. It is designed for musicians, producers, and engineers who want amplifier and cabinet modeling inside a compatible DAW. The platform combines amp, cabinet, pedal, studio-effect, preset, and signal-chain tools in one environment, with Suite mode for a structured workflow and Studio mode for modular editing. It is a focused fit for recorded guitar and bass tones rather than a standalone application.
The published plans show several one-time suites, with the lowest listed price at USD 99. Amp Room Bass Suite includes 3 amps, 5 cabinets, 10 stompboxes, 13 effects and utilities, and a Custom IR loader. Metal Suite costs USD 99 and includes 4 amps, 7 cabinets, 10 stompboxes, 13 effects and utilities, and a Custom IR loader. Vintage Suite is also USD 99, with 4 classic amps, 5 cabinets, 11 stompboxes, 13 effects and utilities, and a Custom IR loader. ENGL Savage Mark II Suite costs USD 99, while Marshall Suite costs USD 149 and includes 5 amps, 13 cabinets, 10 stompboxes, 13 effects and utilities, and a Custom IR loader. A 20-day trial is available.
Amp Room’s strongest differentiator is the combination of dual-cabinet operation, microphone positioning, third-party impulse-response loading through LoadIR, parametric EQ, and preset management. Its expandable Amp Room Suite and Amp Room Ready ecosystem gives the platform room to grow beyond an initial suite. The trade-off is workflow dependence: a compatible DAW host is required, and there is no standalone app. Choose Amp Room if you want structured or modular studio-style signal chains and suite-based amp collections; consider another option if standalone operation is essential or if you want one package to define the full available selection.
