Our verdict on Amazon Shopping
Amazon Shopping brings product browsing, purchasing, reviews, and order tracking together across Android, iOS, and the web. It is aimed at people who shop on Amazon and want product discovery, saved lists, and price-drop alerts in the same app. Photo search and barcode scanning offer additional ways to find products, while delivery notifications keep order updates in the shopping experience. The app is free, making it a straightforward fit for Amazon shoppers who want these tools without a separate paid plan.
Its strongest price-tracking use is within Amazon: users can save products to lists and receive alerts when prices drop, and eligible product pages can show price history. That history is limited to eligible pages and certain regions. The app supports product detail and review browsing, and some products can be viewed in 3D or placed in a room using the app; feature availability can vary by product and region. These capabilities make it useful for evaluating an Amazon listing, but barcode search is product discovery rather than a verified comparison across competing retailers.
The trade-off is that Amazon Shopping centers on Amazon rather than serving as a broad retailer-comparison tool. It is available on Android, iOS, and web, with cloud and mobile deployment, but there is no browser extension in the listed feature set. Choose it if Amazon is where you browse and buy and you want order updates, lists, and alerts in one place. Shoppers whose priority is comparing prices across retailers should look for a tool built around that workflow instead.
