Almaquote is Alma's quotation module for sheet metal subcontractors, sales managers and estimating professionals. It builds quotes for 2D parts, tubes, sections and 3D assemblies from imported geometry or predefined shapes. Its emphasis is detailed fabrication cost estimation: it calculates material costs with Alma nesting algorithms, estimates cutting time, and accounts for welding, bending, drilling and other operations. Fabricators whose main need is consistent, configurable quoting are the clearest fit; teams looking primarily for scheduling or inventory management should look elsewhere.

The plan structure separates the essential quoting scopes: QUOTE Essential 2D covers 2D parts, while QUOTE Essential Tube covers tubes and profiles. QUOTE Premium combines estimating for 2D, tubes and profiles with a web platform for customer exchanges. Alma offers Almaquote installed on-premise under a perpetual license or through the Almacam PASS subscription; pricing is by request. The published tiers clarify the scope differences, but buyers will need to contact Alma to compare costs and determine which option matches their quoting workflow.

Its breadth within estimating is a notable strength: users can configure operations, cost formulas, reports and workflows, review quotes graphically, and send them. Multi-level bills of materials and associated operations support assembly-level estimates. Quotation data can link with CAD/CAM, ERP, production-management and CAPM systems, making it relevant where estimates need to connect with existing production processes. This is a focused quoting tool, not a broad shop-floor management suite: choose it for fabrication-specific costing and quote handling, rather than if your priority is scheduling or inventory tracking.

Almaquote pros and cons

    • Uses nesting algorithms to estimate cutting time and material costs.
    • Connects quote data with CAD/CAM, ERP and production-management systems.
  • Where it doesn't
    • Focuses on quotation rather than production scheduling or inventory tracking.
    • Pricing is provided by request, with no published plan prices.
    • The Essential plans split 2D quoting from tube and profile quoting.
