Adobe Firefly is a generative AI application for creating and editing visual content. It is aimed at creators, designers, marketers, and other Adobe users who need image-generation and image-editing tools. Prompts can produce images, while reference images can guide results. Firefly also supports Generative Fill, Generative Remove, Generative Expand, Generative Upscale, prompt-based object and background replacement, Generative Recolor, and image style transformation. It runs on web, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

The plan structure is freemium. Firefly Free includes limited free daily generations across standard and premium features, along with select image, video, and audio models. Firefly Standard adds 2,000 monthly generative credits, unlimited access to standard image features, and access to premium features using monthly credits. Firefly Pro includes 4,000 monthly generative credits, Photoshop on web and mobile, Adobe Express Premium, and unlimited standard image features. Firefly Pro Plus raises the allowance to 10,000 monthly generative credits and includes Photoshop on web and mobile, Adobe Express Premium, and unlimited standard image features. Adobe states that outputs from its own Firefly AI models can be used commercially; partner-model outputs may have separate suitability considerations.

Its main advantage is ecosystem fit. Firefly connects with Photoshop, Adobe Express, Illustrator, Premiere, and Lightroom, making it a natural option for teams already working in Adobe’s creative tools. API access and JPG and PNG output support broader production workflows. However, the published capabilities are centered on images, with additional video, audio, and vector model access in the product description rather than a dedicated text-to-speech workflow. Choose Firefly for Adobe-centered visual creation and editing; choose a specialized text-to-speech product when spoken-audio generation is the primary requirement.
