Actian AI Analyst turns questions about business data into tables, charts, reports, and contextual follow-ups. It is aimed at business users, analysts, and data teams that want conversational access to SQL databases, warehouses, or CSV files, with a governed semantic layer defining models, metrics, relationships, and glossary terms. The Steward Agent helps generate and maintain that layer. Web access, Slack, Microsoft Teams, scheduled insights, sharing, and an API support team workflows beyond a single chat.

The published monthly plans start with Starter at $499, which includes 200 messages, 10 users, one AI Analyst Agent, up to 10 tables per agent, and Slack and Teams access. Growth is $1,699 monthly for 1,000 messages, 50 users, five agents, and up to 250 tables per agent. Scale costs $2,999 monthly and raises those limits to 3,000 messages, 100 users, 10 agents, and 1,000 tables per agent; it also adds the Actian AI Analyst API. Enterprise has custom message and model limits and includes the API. A 14-day trial is offered, but there is no perpetual free plan, so the entry price may be difficult to justify for smaller teams or occasional analysis.

Its breadth is strongest where governed definitions need to meet multiple data sources: connections include PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, MySQL, SQL Server, Databricks, and others, alongside CSV upload and scheduled recurring analysis. Sharing chats and artifacts, trace monitoring, and CSV conversation exports add collaboration and oversight options. Buyers should consider it when semantic consistency and analysis across an organization matter enough to support its paid entry point. Teams seeking a free tool, or a lower-cost way to explore a small dataset, are better served by an alternative with a lighter pricing commitment.
