Our verdict on AccountingTools
AccountingTools provides self-study continuing professional education for accounting professionals, including CPAs and Enrolled Agents. Courses cover accounting, auditing, tax, finance, ethics and related subjects. Learners download PDF materials, study at their own pace, then take an online multiple-choice exam. A certificate is available after passing. The vendor states it is a NASBA-approved continuing education provider; this is CPE, not preparation for CPA, EA or CMA credential exams.
The pricing is straightforward for individual buyers: each course costs $15 as a one-time purchase and includes a self-study CPE course, PDF materials and an online exam. The Enrolled Agent Education Bundle costs $99 one time and includes 16 CPE hours in the Tax category. Course bundles and volume discounts are also available. There is no free plan.
