1C:Retail is retail operations software for individual stores and distributed retail networks. It combines retail and wholesale sales, cashier workflows, inventory operations, purchasing, supplier management, product and price catalogs, barcode equipment support, warehouse activity and reporting. Its strongest fit is a retailer already working within the 1C ecosystem, especially one coordinating multiple stores, workstations and cash registers. Smaller outlets can use the locally installed Basic edition, while larger operations can add workstations through Professional or use the Cloud edition.
The plan structure separates deployment and scale. Cloud provides internet access and includes two workstations. Basic is locally installed for one workstation and includes free updates. Professional is also locally installed, with additional workstations available as an option. The product is paid and has a 30-day free trial, while local editions are one-time purchases. Cloud pricing is stated per user per month when paid for 12 months, and pricing is Russia-specific in RUB. This makes the main buying decision less about feature availability and more about whether the retailer prefers hosted access or local deployment.
The ecosystem is a central strength. 1C:Retail exchanges data with 1C:Accounting, 1C:Trade Management, 1C:Cashier, 1C:Mobile Cashier, 1C:Storekeeper, 1C:Orders and other 1C applications. That connected approach supports purchasing, stock movements, cashier operations and consolidated reporting across stores, but it also means accounting may depend on adjacent products or integrations rather than being fully contained in 1C:Retail. Choose it for a connected 1C retail environment with multi-store coordination; consider an alternative if you need standalone accounting or a fully cloud-native deployment.
1C:Retail pros and cons
- Where it wins
- Native cashier, receipt processing and retail point-of-sale workflows
- Inventory, purchasing, barcode equipment and supplier management in one suite
- Multi-store synchronization with central-office and cross-store reporting
- Where it doesn't
- Accounting depends partly on integrations with other 1C applications
- No free plan; the trial period is limited to 30 days
- Professional and Basic editions require local installation
