Prismic’s listed paid prices in 2026 start at $10 per repository per month when paid annually; they are not listed as per-seat charges. The Free plan allows one user, while paid plans raise the user cap to three, seven, 25 or unlimited. The right upgrade depends not just on team size, but also on locales, API calls, CDN bandwidth, roles and how usage limits are handled.

Does Prismic charge per seat?
No separate seat price is listed. The displayed paid amounts are per repository, per month, when paid annually. Instead of adding a published fee for each extra user, Prismic sets user caps by plan: one on Free, three on Starter, seven on Small, 25 on Medium, and unlimited on Platinum and Enterprise.

So if a team outgrows its user cap, compare the next plan’s repository price and features. Do not calculate a monthly-billing rate from these annual-payment figures: Prismic’s pricing page does not provide one.
What the Free plan includes
Free is a reasonable starting point for a solo project that fits within one user, two locales, 4 million monthly API calls and 100 GB of monthly CDN bandwidth. Prismic lists unlimited documents, types and assets on the plan. It has no overages; if the allowance is exceeded, the project can be automatically locked.

That makes Free less suitable when uninterrupted service is essential and usage may exceed the included limits. Check how the project’s usage is trending and understand the limit behavior before relying on it for a live site.

Starter: need a second or third user, or a third locale
Starter is the first listed paid step. At $10 per repository per month, paid annually, it allows three users and three locales. It retains Free’s 4 million monthly API calls and 100 GB included CDN bandwidth, with paid bandwidth overage available up to 500 GB at $0.30/GB.

Small: team of up to seven or a fourth locale
At $25 per repository per month, paid annually, Small raises the cap to seven users and four locales. It retains the 4 million API-call allowance and 100 GB included bandwidth. Its listed bandwidth overage terms are the same as Starter’s: up to 500 GB at $0.30/GB.
Medium: need roles, more users or greater included usage
Medium costs $150 per repository per month, paid annually. It allows 25 users and five locales, includes user roles, and raises the monthly allowance to 5 million API calls and 500 GB of CDN bandwidth. Paid bandwidth overage is listed up to 1 TB at $0.30/GB.

Platinum: unlimited users or substantially higher quotas
Platinum costs $675 per repository per month, paid annually. It includes unlimited users, eight locales, 10 million monthly API calls and 1 TB of monthly CDN bandwidth. The pricing page lists bandwidth overage up to 5 TB at $0.25/GB and API-call overages up to 20 million on yearly invoiced plans. It also lists development environments as a paid option on yearly invoiced plans; confirm the terms that apply to your account with Prismic.

Enterprise: custom requirements
Enterprise has custom pricing and custom quotas. Prismic lists options such as SSO, backups, custom roles, and support or uptime SLAs. Ask for the proposed quotas and the specific security and support terms in writing; the public pricing page does not provide an Enterprise price.

Understand usage limits and automatic upgrades
Prismic’s pricing page says paid plans use a soft limit for CDN bandwidth, with plan-specific overage ceilings and rates. Reaching a plan’s maximum permitted paid overage can move the repository to the next plan level. Free has no overages and may lock the project after its allowance is exceeded.
A January 20, 2026 update by Prismic Platform PM François Rivière describes Spend Manager, a setting in the Usage Dashboard for handling CDN bandwidth or API-call limits. With auto-upgrade enabled, Prismic says the repository moves to the next plan tier after exceeding a limit. With auto-upgrade disabled, it pauses at the hard limit until a manual upgrade or the next billing cycle. The update says auto-upgrade is the default. Check the current dashboard setting and terms rather than assuming a particular billing outcome. Read Prismic’s Spend Manager update.
How to choose a plan
- Count the users who need access. If your team exceeds the plan’s cap, compare the next tier’s repository price and included features; there is no separate seat tariff listed.
- Check localization needs. Free includes two locales; Starter, Small, Medium and Platinum include three, four, five and eight, respectively.
- Estimate API calls and CDN bandwidth separately. Free, Starter and Small list 4 million monthly API calls. Medium lists 5 million and Platinum 10 million. Included bandwidth ranges from 100 GB on the first three plans to 500 GB on Medium and 1 TB on Platinum.
- Decide whether you can accept a pause or overage. Review the plan’s bandwidth ceiling and rate, and check Spend Manager’s auto-upgrade setting so you know how the repository is configured to respond to limits.
- Account for governance and contract needs. Medium includes user roles; Enterprise is the listed route for custom roles, SSO, backups, custom quotas and specified support or uptime SLAs.
These are plan-selection cues based on Prismic’s published limits, not a guarantee of how a particular project will use the service. Pricing and usage terms can change.
