Prime Video’s October 2026 lineup has five standouts for different moods: an eight-episode Carrie series, a grief-centered romance, a Mona Lisa heist comedy, the return of The Terminal List, and a Halloween comedy special. The dates below are from Amazon’s UK schedule; availability and release timing can differ by country, so check your local Prime Video listing.
Five Prime Video picks for October 2026
| Title | Scheduled date | Format | Best fit for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carrie | October 7 | Eight-episode series | Horror and Stephen King fans |
| Love of Your Life | October 14 | Romantic drama film | Viewers in the mood for a story about love, grief, and change |
| Masterplan | October 16 | Heist comedy film | Fans of lighter capers and art-theft plots |
| The Terminal List season 2 | October 21 | Returning action and espionage series | Viewers after military action and a globe-spanning conspiracy |
| Last One Laughing: Halloween | October 23 | Seasonal comedy special | Groups looking for a Halloween watch |
These are editorial picks, not a universal ranking: the strongest choice depends on whether you want horror, drama, comedy, or action. Amazon’s UK monthly lineup supplies four of the dates and descriptions; Amazon separately confirms the season 2 premiere date for The Terminal List. The complete schedule here is UK-specific, and dates can change.
What to watch, by mood
Carrie — October 7
Mike Flanagan’s eight-episode adaptation reworks Stephen King’s 1974 debut novel as a series rather than a feature-length retelling. Summer H. Howell plays Carrie White, a sheltered teenager whose father’s death brings her into public school. A viral bullying scandal and the emergence of her telekinetic powers shape the story, giving this version a setup that speaks to social-media-era pressure as well as the novel’s familiar themes. Amazon’s UK listing describes the premise; Tom’s Guide identifies the episode count, Flanagan’s involvement, and the source novel. Reading Carrie beforehand is optional, but it is a natural companion for viewers curious about the adaptation’s origins.

Love of Your Life — October 14
Choose this romantic drama if you want emotional upheaval rather than a conventional, light rom-com. Margaret Qualley plays Maya, whose imagined future with Charlie, played by Gabriel Basso, is upended. The story follows love across years and places, with grief and personal change at its center. Amazon’s UK synopsis introduces the disrupted future, while Tom’s Guide describes the broader timeline and themes.

Masterplan — October 16
For a lighter change of pace, Masterplan turns the Mona Lisa into the target of a family caper. Stanley Tucci plays a master thief who brings his adult children into the plan; Tom’s Guide identifies the trio as Roger, Chiara, and Jay. The film is an English-language Franco-Italian co-production shot across France and Italy, according to Tom’s Guide. Its appeal here is the deliberately silly heist premise, not any claim about reviews or audience response. The October 16 date appears in T3’s October picks.
The Terminal List season 2 — October 21
Chris Pratt returns as James Reece in a new espionage story built around a conspiracy spanning multiple regions. Amazon says season 2 is based on Jack Carr’s novel True Believer and will premiere October 21 exclusively on Prime Video. That date and premiere wording are from Amazon’s season 2 announcement; the UK lineup describes the story as a globe-spanning espionage thriller. True Believer is optional source reading for viewers who want the novel behind this season.

Last One Laughing: Halloween — October 23
This seasonal entry adapts the comedy competition’s central challenge for Halloween: contestants try not to laugh or scream while props and interruptions test their composure. It is the most group-friendly pick in this set if you want a spooky-season special without choosing a straight horror story. Amazon’s UK lineup gives the challenge details; T3 describes it as the format’s first seasonal special.
Which one should you start with?
- Pick Carrie for horror, a longer-form Stephen King adaptation, and an eight-episode story.
- Pick Love of Your Life for romantic drama focused on grief and personal change.
- Pick Masterplan for a lighter caper built around the Mona Lisa.
- Pick The Terminal List season 2 for returning military action and espionage.
- Pick Last One Laughing: Halloween for a seasonal comedy challenge to watch with others.
Amazon’s full lineup cited here is for the UK, while the official US announcement independently confirms the October 21 Terminal List premiere. The sources do not establish that every title has the same date, release pattern, or included-with-Prime status in every territory; check the listing for your country before planning a watch.
