In a November 1, 2025 catalog update, Prime Video added 53 movies and shows, according to Tom’s Guide. Rory Mellon’s five recommendations offer a useful starting point across drama, horror-romance, historical television and classic suspense—but they are an editorial shortlist, not a ranking or a complete list of the additions. The titles’ availability on Prime Video today, including by country, has not been established.
Five picks, depending on what you want to watch
The choices below follow Tom’s Guide writer Rory Mellon’s November 4, 2025 recommendations. Use the format and tone to find a fit; the original article did not give a shared scorecard or rank the five titles.
| Title | Best fit | Format or tone |
|---|---|---|
| A Beautiful Mind (2001) | A biographical drama | Accessible, character-focused drama |
| Bones and All (2022) | Viewers after something unsettling and romantic | Dark horror-thriller and romance |
| Good Will Hunting (1998) | A character drama about talent and personal struggle | Acclaimed drama |
| King & Conqueror (2024) | A historical-drama series | Eight-part series |
| Rear Window (1954) | Classic suspense | Mystery thriller |
What to know about each recommendation
A Beautiful Mind (2001)
This biographical drama centers on mathematician John Nash. Mellon recommends it for its accessible approach and performances, and reports that it won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Director, Adapted Screenplay and Supporting Actress. Those award details are attributed here to the Tom’s Guide article.

A dark blend of horror-thriller and romance, the film follows two young people with cannibalistic urges. Mellon notes that it is based on Camille DeAngelis’s novel and highlights performances by Taylor Russell, Timothée Chalamet and Mark Rylance. Its premise and tone make it the most deliberately disturbing pick of the five.

Good Will Hunting (1998)
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon wrote this drama about Will Hunting, an MIT janitor whose mathematical gift brings him into conflict with the law and leads to mandated therapy. Robin Williams has a prominent role. Choose it for a character-led story rather than a plot built around suspense or spectacle.
King & Conqueror (2024)
This eight-part BBC historical drama depicts William of Normandy and Harold Godwinson in the period leading up to the Battle of Hastings. It is dramatized television, not a reliable stand-in for a history account; the Tom’s Guide article cautions that scholars may object to liberties taken with events.

Why the “53 new” figure needs a date
Tom’s Guide reported that 53 movies and shows arrived on Prime Video on November 1, 2025. Its article also compared that with 43 titles said to have been added to Netflix on the same date; that comparison is the article’s count, not independent confirmation of either service’s catalog. These numbers describe that historical update, not a current monthly total.
