The “up to 60%” savings on Blink cameras and Ring doorbells refer to Prime Day 2024 offers, not a promotion confirmed to be available now. HotHardware reported the Blink Outdoor 4 five-camera system at $159.99, 60% off, and the Ring Video Doorbell at $49.99, 50% off, on July 16, 2024. Those figures are historical; check current listings and subscription requirements before choosing a device.
What the Prime Day 2024 deals included
HotHardware’s July 16, 2024 deal roundup reported the following prices and discounts. They describe offers at that time, not present-day prices or availability.
| Device | Reported Prime Day 2024 offer | Features described in the roundup |
|---|---|---|
| Blink Outdoor 4 (4th Gen), five-camera system | $159.99, reported as 60% off MSRP | 1080p live view, infrared night vision, two-way audio and motion alerts; person detection was described as part of an optional Blink Subscription Plan sold separately. |
| Ring Video Doorbell | $49.99, reported as 50% off | 1080p HD video, motion detection, privacy zones and night vision; battery or wired power, with optional Ring Protect features. |
| Ring Wired Doorbell Pro | Reported as 50% off | Price and further feature details not stated in the roundup. |
| Ring Stick Up Cam Battery | Reported as 45% off | Price and further feature details not stated in the roundup. |
These are HotHardware’s reported figures, not independently verified current prices. See its Prime Day 2024 deal roundup for the original report.
What “up to 60% off” meant
The maximum discount in the headline applied to the Blink Outdoor 4 five-camera system. It did not mean every Blink or Ring product in the roundup was discounted by 60%: the Ring Video Doorbell was listed at 50% off, the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro at 50% off, and the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery at 45% off.

What to check before buying a camera or doorbell now
The 2024 roundup cannot establish which listings, package configurations, or prices are available today. Before buying, compare the current listing against the setup you need:
- Device type: A camera monitors an area; a video doorbell is designed to show activity at the entrance and let you check who is there.
- Power: Confirm whether the specific doorbell listing supports battery power, wired power, or both. The 2024 roundup described the Ring Video Doorbell as offering battery or wired power.
- Package size: Verify the number of cameras in the box. The reported Blink price was for a five-camera system, not a single camera.
- Features and subscriptions: Check which functions work without a plan and which require an optional subscription. The roundup specifically described Blink person detection as a separately sold subscription feature and Ring Protect features as optional.
- Current total cost: Check the present product price and any recurring plan cost on the seller’s current listing; the roundup does not give current prices or subscription costs.
Alexa compatibility in the roundup
The article also mentioned the Amazon Echo Dot (5th Gen) as an Alexa-enabled device for voice control of compatible security products. It did not report a Prime Day price for the Echo Dot in the supplied deal details. Check the current product and device compatibility information before relying on a particular voice-control feature.
