Amazon’s October sale is officially called Prime Big Deal Days, not Prime Day. It runs October 6–7, 2026, with Prime-member-exclusive offers across more than 35 categories, and today (October 7) is the last day. Gaming is well covered: live roundups from PC Gamer and Tom’s Guide show deals on gaming laptops and desktops, graphics cards, monitors, storage, controllers, headsets, handhelds, and console games and accessories.
Rather than present ten product prices that may already have changed, this guide gives you ten categories worth shopping, the three specific deals reported on October 6, and the spec checks that separate a real bargain from a crossed-out list price. Grand Theft Auto VI is due November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, which is 43 days (six weeks and a day) after today, so some of these picks are about getting ready for it.

Ten gaming categories worth checking
The roundups establish that these categories have offers; they don’t establish any average discount. No independent figure for gaming savings in this event exists, and Amazon’s own claim of “over one million items at Amazon’s lowest price of the year so far” is a company statement about the whole event, not an audit of gaming products.

1. Gaming laptops
Compare the GPU model and its power limit (TGP). PC Gamer specifically warns that laptop GPU wattage varies and affects performance, so two laptops with the same GPU name can perform differently. Also check CPU, RAM, SSD size, and screen resolution and refresh rate.
2. Prebuilt gaming desktops
Look at the GPU first, then RAM, storage, and the power supply and cooling, which are often where budget systems cut corners. Confirm the seller and warranty.
3. Graphics cards
Buy only if the card matches your monitor and power supply. A GPU deal is only good if your case, PSU connectors and CPU won’t bottleneck it.

4. Gaming monitors
Check resolution, refresh rate, panel type and response time, and make sure your GPU or console can actually drive them. A 240 Hz screen adds nothing to hardware that can’t reach those frame rates.
5. SSDs and storage
Verify the interface and form factor. Internal NVMe drives, external drives and console-specific expansion cards are not interchangeable, and a heatsink may be needed for a PS5 slot.
6. Controllers

8. Headsets
Check whether the headset uses a USB dongle, Bluetooth or a 3.5 mm jack, because that decides which console or PC it works with.
9. Handheld and retro consoles

10. Console games and accessories
PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo titles and accessories appear in the coverage. If you’re planning ahead for GTA VI, a spare controller, extra storage or a headset is more sensible than hunting for pre-order bundles. Rockstar’s store describes the physical edition as a code in a box with a download code and no disc, so a disc deal won’t give you a disc.

- Platform fit: console generation, PC or Android support, and what’s included in the box.
- Performance per dollar: compare specs across similar products, not discounts.
- Display capability: make sure your hardware can use the resolution and refresh rate.
- Storage and upgrades: capacity, interface, compatibility, and whether mounting parts are included.
- Actual transaction value: compare with a recent price history, check who sells and ships it, and read the return terms. A crossed-out list price alone proves nothing.

About the GTA VI timing
Rockstar lists November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PC date in the sources used here, so don’t buy a gaming PC or GPU specifically for launch day. If you own a PS5 or Series X|S, fast storage and a good controller are the safest GTA-related buys.
