Pranavi Urs turned a three-shot overnight lead into the women’s individual golf gold at the 20th Asian Games, finishing one stroke clear of China’s Yin Ruoning and Singapore’s Shannon Tan. A triple bogey on the third hole briefly wiped out her advantage, but Urs recovered to close with an even-par 70 and a four-round total of 15-under 265.
How Urs recovered from the third-hole setback
Urs began the final round with a three-shot lead. The Asian Golf Industry Federation reports that she made a triple-bogey seven on the third hole, erasing that cushion. She then played the remaining 15 holes three-under without dropping another shot, finishing the round at even-par 70.
That recovery secured the individual title: her total of 15-under 265 was one stroke better than the scores of Yin Ruoning and Shannon Tan.
