The release arriving before the end of October is Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Volume 6—the manga adaptation, not a new Pokémon game. ComicBook.com reported that VIZ Media planned to release the 96-page volume on October 13, 2026.
What is the new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet release?
It is Volume 6 of the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet manga, written by Hidenori Kusaka and illustrated by Satoshi Yamamoto. The book adapts the Nintendo Switch games’ setting and story, but it is a companion narrative rather than a game or downloadable content.
ComicBook.com reported the volume’s release date as October 13, 2026. Its article listed a price of $5.99 and a length of 96 pages; those details are secondary-source reporting and may vary by retailer or market. Read ComicBook.com’s release report.

As quoted by ComicBook.com from VIZ Media’s description, “With the Gym Battle against Iono finished and the raid upon Schedar Squad underway, Violet finds himself in an intense battle with Mela.” The description also asks, “Can Scarlet defeat the Lurking Steel Titan?” The publisher description is presented here through ComicBook.com’s quotation; a VIZ listing was not independently confirmed.
#1 Best Overall
Does the manga follow the games exactly?
No. ComicBook.com describes the manga as a retelling that introduces original characters and changes elements of the games’ plot. Readers can expect a version of the story with its own narrative, not a scene-for-scene substitute for playing Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet.
