Pokémon Pokopia’s first Halloween event features Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist, according to Pokémon France’s October 3, 2026 report on official announcements. Official Pokémon announcements in German and Spanish independently confirm Pumpkaboo and the event dates, but the materials available here do not independently confirm Gourgeist. “Fan-favorite” is not supported by a popularity poll or other measure in these sources.
Which Pokémon are in Pokémon Pokopia’s Halloween event?
The event, titled “Pumpkaboo’s Candy Collection” in the reported English-language framing, centers on Pumpkaboo. Pokémon France reports that Gourgeist, Pumpkaboo’s evolution, can also be befriended during the event. The official localized announcements reviewed confirm Pumpkaboo, but not Gourgeist by name; treat the second character as a detail reported by Pokémon France rather than one independently confirmed in those announcement extracts. Official Pokémon localized announcements and Pokémon France’s report provide the respective claims.
The sources do not provide polling, sales figures, or another measure showing that either Pokémon is a “fan favorite.”
When does the event start and end?
The announced event window is October 17 through November 1, 2026. The German and Spanish official announcements give those dates using local-time wording. Pokémon France reports the more precise window as October 17 at 05:00 through November 1 at 04:59, according to the console clock. Use the console-clock times when checking the event in-game; they are not a universal time-zone conversion. Official localized date announcement; Pokémon France timing details.

How does the Halloween event work?
Find Pumpkaboo and collect candy
According to Pokémon France’s description, Pumpkaboo appears near a rebuilt Pokémon Center. Talk to it and fulfill its request to befriend it. The reported activity then has the player use Copy to disguise as furniture or another object that a Pokémon likes. When a Pokémon approaches, startle it to earn pumpkin candies.
Trade candy for Halloween items
Exchange the candies at the Pokémon Center for Halloween-themed furniture and other objects. Pokémon France reports that these event items can be used to create a suitable habitat that attracts Gourgeist, giving players an opportunity to befriend it as well.
