The most current tier list for Pokémon Masters EX is Pocket Gamer’s “Pokémon Masters EX tier list – The best sync pairs to use,” updated October 8, 2026 for game version 2.73.0. Its latest update adds Sygna Suit Lysandre (Alt.) & Chi-Yu and Sygna Suit Ghetsis & Chien-Pao. This guide explains how to read a tier label, which comparison points matter when you are choosing a pair, and how to check availability before you spend in-game currency. It does not reproduce the full ranking, so confirm each pair’s placement in the live Pocket Gamer table.
What the latest tier list covers
Pocket Gamer’s list ranks EX Sync Pairs by how useful they are to players. Its update note names the two additions above. The article describes the game as having “over 200” collectible Sync Pairs; that is the publisher’s own figure, and the article does not explain how the count was made.

Treat any tier list as a snapshot. A pair’s placement can shift when new pairs arrive, when the game version changes, or when a pair’s availability changes. If you read a placement after the date above, check whether the article has been updated since.

What a tier label does and does not tell you
A tier is a general comparison between pairs. It is not a promise that a pair is available to scout right now, and it is not a guarantee that the pair is the best choice for your roster or for a particular stage. A top-tier pair that does not fit your team’s type coverage or role gaps may help you less than a lower-tier pair that does.

Comparison points that matter for team fit
When two pairs sit close together in a tier list, compare them on the same fields. The maintained sync-pair reference lists these fields for each pair:
- Type: the pair’s type, which determines which opponents it hits well and which hit it hard.
- Weakness: the types that threaten the pair, to be weighed against your current team.
- Role: what the pair is for on a team, such as attacking or support.
- EX role: the pair’s role as an EX Sync Pair, which is separate from its general role.
- Potential: how far the pair can be developed.
- Availability: whether and where the pair can currently be obtained.
Use these fields to fill the gaps in your team rather than to pick the highest tier. A pair that covers a type your team lacks usually adds more than one that duplicates an existing strength.
How EX Master Sync Pairs and Stellar type affect comparisons
According to the official Pokémon Masters EX site, EX Master Sync Pairs have a Master Passive Skill that strengthens the whole team. When comparing two EX pairs, check whether each one’s Master Passive Skill suits the team you are building, because the effect applies to every member, not only the pair itself.
The official site also reports that the Stellar type was added for use by certain Sync Pairs when they Sync Terastallized. Only those pairs can use Stellar in that way, so do not assume a Stellar-capable pair gains the same benefit from other sources. Tier placements do not by themselves show how these mechanics change a pair’s value, so read the pair’s own details before deciding.
Check availability before you spend
Availability is the field most likely to change. Use the Sync Pair Scout screen in the game to confirm what is on offer:
Rank #2
- The Pokémon TCG: Pokémon Day 2026 Collection includes 1 foil promo card featuring Pikachu with a Pokémon Day stamp.
- This also comes with 1 Pokémon coin.
- You will also receive 3 Pokémon TCG booster packs.
- Booster Packs May Vary from those pictured.
- Open the Sync Pair Scout screen.
- Find the Offering Rate section to see which pairs are offered and at what rates.
- Read the screen’s Notes before you spend currency.
The official site also notes that exclusive pairs may appear outside their corresponding scouts in the future. Do not treat a pair’s exclusive status as a guarantee that it will never appear in another scout.

A tier list can tell you how a pair compares with others. It cannot tell you whether a specific banner is worth your currency. For that decision, compare the pair’s fit for your team against the offering rate and Notes shown on the Sync Pair Scout screen at the time you are looking. If the pair fills a gap you have, a lower tier placement can still be the better pull.

The sources reviewed for this guide do not provide an official stage-by-stage team recipe. Start from the stage’s requirements, then use the comparison points above: pick pairs whose types and roles cover the stage’s needs, check their weaknesses against the enemies you expect, and confirm the EX Master Passive Skill benefits the whole team. If you are not sure which stage requirements apply, check the stage’s own information in the game.
What this guide does not establish
No universal ranking method appears in the available material, so this guide does not explain how Pocket Gamer assigns each pair its tier. Read the published rationale in the live article if you want to understand a specific placement. The “over 200” pair count is the publisher’s figure and has not been independently verified.
”
The Bottom Line
Use the Pocket Gamer tier list as a starting point, not a pull order. Choose the pair whose type, role, weakness, EX role, and availability best fill your team’s gaps, and check the Sync Pair Scout screen’s Offering Rate and Notes before spending.
