We could not verify an official Pokémon Legends: Z-A free-download offer ending March 31. The official promotion located was a bonus code for 100 Poké Balls with a qualifying digital purchase—not a free copy of the game. Its purchase deadline was February 28, 2026, and the code expired March 10, 2026.
Is Pokémon Legends: Z-A free to download?
No free download of the game is confirmed by the official sources reviewed. The official Pokémon Legends: Z-A website lists the game as available now; that availability does not mean it is free. The March 31 deadline claim could not be verified as a current official Z-A offer. A search result mentioning March 31 may refer to another Pokémon game or a non-official source, so check that any offer names Z-A and is published by an official source.
Can you still get the 100 Poké Balls?
No. My Nintendo’s digital-purchase promotion offered a code for 100 Poké Balls to qualifying players who purchased and downloaded the game from Nintendo eShop before February 28, 2026. The code had to be redeemed by March 10, 2026; both dates have passed. The My Nintendo promotion announcement and the official Japanese Pokémon promotion page state those deadlines. This was an in-game bonus tied to a purchase, not a free game offer. Buying the game now does not qualify for that expired bonus.

What can you buy for Pokémon Legends: Z-A?
Nintendo lists a paid Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack and paid Mega Dimension DLC. The upgrade requires a copy of the base game on the console, either physical or virtual. Mega Dimension is compatible with both the original game and the Switch 2 Edition. See Nintendo Support’s downloadable-content details for the requirements.

The official game page also announces a bundle of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Mega Dimension DLC scheduled for October 29, 2026. That is a separate offering from the expired Poké Balls promotion.
How do you redeem a Mystery Gift in Pokémon Legends: Z-A?
