The Pokémon Fossil Museum will open in Denver on Friday, May 28, 2027, at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Tickets are not on sale yet; the museum is inviting visitors to join its interest list for presale access and updates.
When is the Pokémon Fossil Museum coming to Denver?
The exhibition opens to the public on Friday, May 28, 2027, at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. The museum announced the date on October 6, 2026, as part of the exhibition’s North American tour, which began at Chicago’s Field Museum. Read the Denver Museum’s announcement.
How do I get tickets?
Denver tickets are not available yet. The museum’s current option is to join its interest list for exclusive presale access before general public sales. The official Denver pages do not give an on-sale date, admission price, or closing date.

What will I see at the Pokémon Fossil Museum?
The exhibition pairs Fossil Pokémon from the video game series with ancient organisms known through real fossils. Visitors can see fossils and specimen casts—including a cast of the SUE T. rex skull—alongside Pokémon such as Tyrantrum, and compare the specimens with sculptures. The displays explore how fossils are found and studied in both the Pokémon world and real-world paleontology.
The exhibition was created by Chicago’s Field Museum, Tokyo’s National Museum of Nature and Science, and The Pokémon Company International. Patrick O’Connor, director of Earth & Space Sciences at the Denver Museum, described it as “a unique way to engage guests of all ages with paleontological science.” The Denver announcement says the pairing is intended as an entry point for learning about prehistoric life and the scientific process of studying fossils.

Where is the Denver exhibition, and what should I know before visiting?
The venue is the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, 2001 Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80205. The museum’s current general hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m. daily and until 9 p.m. most Fridays. Food and drinks are not allowed inside the exhibition. These are current venue details, so check the museum’s exhibit page again closer to your visit for any updates.
Will Denver have Pokémon Fossil Museum merchandise?
Denver merchandise has not been confirmed. The Field Museum’s May 2026 announcement for the Chicago exhibition named items including an Excavator Pikachu plush, key chains, tote bags, Pokémon Trading Card Game accessories, stickers, and clothing; it also said many items were available through Pokémon Center in the U.S. at that time. That Chicago merchandise announcement does not establish what the Denver museum shop will carry.
