The POCO X8 Pro Max and POCO F9 Ultra differ most clearly in their listed display refresh rates, charging options, audio hardware and Spain storefront starting prices. POCO lists a larger typical battery for the X8 Pro Max, while the F9 Ultra adds wireless charging and an independent subwoofer. Xiaomi Spain’s storefront showed starting prices of €429.99 and €1,099.99, respectively, on 7 October 2026—a €670 difference, but not necessarily for matching storage configurations.
These are comparisons of published specifications, not proof of which phone performs better in everyday use. The available official F9 Ultra page does not provide a complete specification sheet, so some comparisons cannot be made reliably.
POCO X8 Pro Max vs POCO F9 Ultra specifications
The table summarizes specifications published on official POCO pages. Regional availability and configurations can differ; the X8 Pro Max details marked UK-specific are taken from its UK specification page.

How the listed hardware differs
Display and platform
The F9 Ultra’s published maximum refresh rate is higher: 185Hz versus up to 120Hz on the X8 Pro Max. Refresh rate alone does not establish which screen looks better or how smoothly a particular app runs. The X8 page also specifies its screen size and resolution; the F9 launch page cited here does not state those details.
The phones use different processors, but chipset names by themselves do not prove a real-world speed advantage. POCO reports an AnTuTu score of 3,085,998 for the X8 Pro Max using AnTuTu V11.0.5 and 4,165,108 for the F9 Ultra using AnTuTu Benchmark V11.1.1. Both figures are attributed to POCO Internal Labs testing around 25°C, and POCO says actual results may vary. Because the listed benchmark versions differ, these are not controlled head-to-head results.

Battery and charging
The X8 Pro Max has the larger stated typical battery capacity: 8,500mAh compared with the F9 Ultra’s 8,050mAh. Capacity does not establish which phone lasts longer between charges; these specifications do not provide an independently measured battery-life comparison.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsBoth list 100W wired charging. The F9 Ultra also lists 50W wireless charging, while wireless charging is not stated on the cited X8 Pro Max specifications page. The UK X8 page says a power adapter is not included in that market’s box and recommends an official Xiaomi adapter rated at 100W or higher. Do not assume UK box contents apply elsewhere.

Cameras, durability and sound
The UK X8 Pro Max specification page lists a 50MP Light Fusion 600 main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide and a 20MP front camera. The cited F9 Ultra launch page does not establish its camera hardware, so it does not support a camera-quality or camera-specification verdict between the two.
POCO lists IP68 dust and water resistance for the X8 Pro Max, under the conditions described on its specifications page. The cited F9 launch page does not state a corresponding rating. The F9 Ultra’s distinct audio feature is its Bose-branded symmetrical stereo speakers with an independent subwoofer; POCO says the subwoofer is exclusive to the Ultra.

These are regional, time-sensitive storefront starting prices, not worldwide prices or guaranteed checkout totals. The listed starting prices are not confirmed to represent matching storage configurations, and promotions or availability can change. Check the live local storefront and compare the same storage tier before treating the difference as a like-for-like price comparison. See the Xiaomi Spain storefront.
Which one should you choose?
- Consider the X8 Pro Max if its listed 8,500mAh typical battery, 6.83-inch 1.5K display, specified UK camera hardware or substantially lower Spain starting price fits your priorities. Those points do not establish longer tested battery life or better camera results.
- Consider the F9 Ultra if its published 185Hz refresh rate, 50W wireless charging or Bose-branded speaker system with an independent subwoofer matters more to you. Its higher Spain storefront starting price is not a confirmed same-storage comparison.
- Wait for fuller local specifications or independent testing if your decision depends on F9 Ultra camera details, dimensions, storage, network bands, measured gaming performance or battery endurance. The cited launch page does not establish those comparisons.
Before ordering, confirm the exact regional model, storage configuration, box contents, network compatibility and current price on the official page for your country. POCO’s X8 Pro Max product page and F9 Series launch page provide the relevant published information, but local listings may differ.
