The POCO X8 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra are different kinds of phones: the POCO is listed as a conventional large-screen handset, while Samsung’s is a foldable that opens into a much larger workspace. There is no reliable like-for-like price difference to quote from the available listings: Samsung’s US page shows a starting price in dollars, while a third-party POCO listing gives a price in rupees. Compare current offers in your country, for the same storage and seller conditions, before deciding which is better value.
How these phones differ
The central choice is between a conventional phone screen and a foldable design with a separate cover display and a larger inner display. Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra on July 22, 2026, as part of its Galaxy Z lineup, according to Samsung Newsroom UK. Samsung positions the device around productivity and multitasking on its larger unfolded screen.
The POCO specifications available here come from 91mobiles, a comparison site, rather than an official POCO product page. Treat its listed specifications as reported figures, not manufacturer-confirmed details.

Which phone has the bigger display?
The answer depends on what “bigger” means. Samsung lists an 8-inch inner display when the Fold8 Ultra is open, plus a 6.5-inch cover display for use while folded. The 91mobiles listing gives the POCO a 6.83-inch screen. Those measurements describe different layouts: Samsung’s inner screen is the largest workspace, while the POCO’s listed screen is its conventional phone display. Screen size alone does not establish which device is easier to carry or better for a particular task.
What is the price difference?
A valid price difference cannot be calculated from these two figures. Samsung’s $2,099.99 starting price is a US offer before trade-in; the POCO’s ₹48,999 figure is a rupee-denominated third-party listing. They refer to different markets and sources, and the POCO listing may not reflect current stock or a current offer.

For a useful comparison, check both devices in the same country and on the same date. Match storage capacity, new or used condition, seller, warranty coverage, and promotional terms; include trade-in value only if you qualify for the same offer. Samsung’s product page is a live offer rather than a universal international price, and aggregator snapshots can change.
Which is better for your needs?
Choose around screen use and portability
- Consider the Fold8 Ultra if you will use the opened 8-inch display for multitasking or other work that benefits from a larger workspace, and accept a foldable form factor.
- Consider the POCO if the 6.83-inch conventional display reported by 91mobiles fits your needs better than a foldable inner screen. Confirm the screen specification and exact model with the seller or manufacturer before buying.
Compare the cameras and battery by your priorities
Samsung lists a 200 MP wide camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera, along with a 5,000 mAh battery. The cited POCO comparison information does not establish camera details or battery capacity, so it is not enough to declare a winner for photography or endurance. Verify the POCO’s official specifications for the exact regional model, and consider independent testing if real-world camera or battery performance is decisive.

Check performance, storage, software, and support before paying
The 91mobiles listing identifies a MediaTek Dimensity 9500s for the POCO, but the cited Samsung product-page information does not give a processor for a direct comparison. The available information also does not establish matching storage options, software-update commitments, or POCO warranty and local service terms. Check these details for the exact regional variants and seller; a processor name alone does not settle overall performance.

What to verify before buying
- Confirm the exact model name and regional variant; do not assume specifications or support are identical across markets.
- Verify POCO specifications with an official listing or the seller, because the cited figures are aggregator-reported.
- Compare the same storage configuration and device condition.
- Check the final local price, including trade-ins, discounts, taxes, and seller-specific terms.
- Review warranty coverage, return policy, software support, and service availability where you live.
