The POCO X7 is the better pick if you want the sharper screen and the higher water-resistance rating. The Redmi Note 15 5G is the better pick if you want a larger battery, a 108MP main camera and microSD expansion. Which one costs less depends entirely on your country, the date, and the memory configuration, so no single “price difference” applies everywhere.

Make sure you are comparing the right Redmi

“Redmi Note 15” is not one phone. The series includes a 4G model and a 5G model, and bands, memory options and retail bundles change from market to market. This comparison uses the global Redmi Note 15 5G as listed on Xiaomi’s global specification page, and the global POCO X7 as listed on Xiaomi’s POCO specification page. Specifications below are taken from these official pages unless noted. If you are shopping in a specific country, confirm that the listing you find is the 5G model and matches the RAM and storage shown in this article.

Display and chipset

Both phones use a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate ceiling, so the practical difference is resolution. The POCO X7’s 1.5K panel has more pixels than the Redmi’s 1080-pixel-tall screen, which shows up as sharper text and detail. Whether you notice that depends on viewing distance and how much you rely on fine detail.

The chipsets are different families: MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300-Ultra in the POCO and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 in the Redmi. A chipset name alone does not settle speed, heat or gaming performance. If performance matters to you, look at independent tests of the exact model and memory configuration you plan to buy, and at the apps and games you use most.

Cameras

The Redmi’s 108MP main sensor has the larger pixel count, but megapixels are a poor guide to photo quality on their own. The POCO specifies optical image stabilisation on its 50MP main camera, which is a useful feature for low-light and handheld shots, and it adds a 2MP macro lens where the Redmi has none. Neither page offers a controlled image comparison, so judge the cameras from sample photos taken on the same phone models you are considering.

Battery and charging

The Redmi’s typical 5520mAh capacity is larger than the POCO’s 5110mAh. Both phones list 45W charging, so charging speed is similar on paper. Capacity does not guarantee a particular screen-on time: the display’s resolution, refresh-rate setting, chipset efficiency and your own app use all change the result.

The charger is the difference that catches buyers out. Xiaomi’s POCO page states a 45W charger is in the box, while Xiaomi’s Redmi page says the adapter is not included. If you already own a compatible 45W charger, this may not matter; if you do not, budget for one.

Storage and expansion

The POCO’s official options are 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB. The Redmi comes in several configurations, and Xiaomi says availability varies. If you keep a lot of music, video or offline maps, the Redmi’s microSD slot (up to 1TB according to Xiaomi) is a real advantage, because the POCO’s cited page does not list expansion at all.

Size, weight and water resistance

The Redmi is slightly taller and wider but lighter, at 178g against the POCO’s 185.5g or 190g depending on back material. The POCO has the higher ingress rating, IP68 against IP66. Both ratings come from laboratory conditions that Xiaomi specifies. Xiaomi says the POCO’s IP68 rating is not a recommendation to expose the phone to water and that protection can deteriorate with use, and it gives similar cautions for the Redmi. Neither phone should be treated as fully waterproof for swimming, showers or rain exposure without reading those limits.

Price difference: why there is no single answer

A reliable price difference needs four matching details: country, date, retailer, and memory configuration. Change any one and the gap can flip. Two figures are commonly quoted, and they should be read as snapshots, not as current prices.

  • Redmi Note 15 launch pricing. Android Central’s review reports a starting price of INR 22,999 or €279 for the Redmi Note 15, and INR 24,999 or €299 for the 8GB/256GB version. The same review places the rollout in context: the phone first appeared in China in August 2025, went global on December 18, 2025, and launched in India on January 6, 2026. These are launch prices, not current offers.
  • A comparison-site snapshot. The 91mobiles comparison page displayed ₹17,999 for the POCO X7 and ₹28,999 for the Redmi Note 15 when it was reviewed. That page does not establish a date or the exact configurations and retailers behind each figure, so the ₹11,000 gap it shows should not be taken as the current difference.

  1. Choose your country and check that both phones are sold there in the configuration you want. Match RAM and storage exactly; the POCO’s 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB options do not line up with every Redmi configuration.
  2. Confirm that the Redmi listing is the 5G model. A 4G listing is a different product for this comparison.
  3. Check each retailer’s price on the same day and note the date. Include any bundled charger, since the two phones differ on this point.
  4. Compare the total, including the charger if it is not included, rather than the headline price.

Comparison sites such as Kimovil’s POCO X7 and Redmi Note 15 comparison and NanoReview’s Redmi Note 15 5G and POCO X7 comparison are useful for side-by-side layouts. Their listed values can differ from Xiaomi’s pages in selected configurations, so use them to orient yourself and return to the manufacturer pages for the specifications you rely on. The 91mobiles comparison is best used for its specification layout rather than its prices.

Which phone suits which buyer

  • Choose the POCO X7 if you want the sharper 1.5K screen, the higher IP68 rating, and optical stabilisation on the main camera, and if its local price is competitive with the Redmi’s.
  • Choose the Redmi Note 15 5G if you want the larger battery, the 108MP main camera, a lighter body, and microSD expansion for local media, and if the 45W charger is already on your desk or you are willing to buy one.
  • Do not decide on specifications alone. If the local price gap reverses the trade-offs above, the cheaper phone for the configuration you need is usually the better buy.

Before you buy

  • Confirm the exact Redmi variant (5G) and the storage configuration you are buying.
  • Check whether the charger is included in the box at your retailer.
  • Note the date of any price you save, since listings change quickly.
  • Read the IP68 and IP66 notes on Xiaomi’s pages before relying on water resistance.
