The POCO X7 Pro is the stronger pick on paper for demanding apps, gaming, camera flexibility, faster charging, and water-and-dust protection. The standard POCO M8 5G has a slightly larger screen and may suit buyers who prefer that size, but its display resolution, memory and storage specifications, and charging rate are lower. There is no single reliable price difference: it depends on country, storage tier, seller, warranty, and date.
POCO X7 Pro vs POCO M8: specifications compared
This comparison is between the POCO X7 Pro and the standard POCO M8 5G. POCO also sells a separate M8 Pro 5G; its specifications are not interchangeable with the M8 5G’s.

Performance and storage
The X7 Pro combines a Dimensity 8400-Ultra processor with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The M8 5G uses a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 with LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2. On specifications alone, that makes the X7 Pro the more performance-focused option, particularly for demanding games and heavier apps. These component differences do not establish a specific real-world speed advantage: there is no matched independent test here to quantify one.

POCO reports an AnTuTu v10 score of 1,704,330 for the X7 Pro from its internal labs and says actual results may vary. That is a manufacturer-reported result, not an independent benchmark or a direct comparison with the M8. Details appear on POCO’s X7 Pro product page.
Screen size and resolution
The M8 5G’s display is 0.10 inches larger diagonally: 6.77 inches versus 6.67 inches on the X7 Pro. The X7 Pro’s listed resolution is higher, at 2712 × 1220 rather than 2392 × 1080. Both are specified for refresh rates up to 120Hz, and both list a 3200-nit peak brightness claim. The choice is therefore a slightly larger screen on the M8 or higher resolution on the X7 Pro—not a difference in their stated maximum refresh rate.

Rear cameras
The X7 Pro has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) plus an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The M8 5G pairs its 50MP main camera with a 2MP depth camera. The X7 Pro offers a dedicated ultra-wide option for framing broader scenes; the hardware list alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos in every situation.

Battery, charging, and protection
POCO lists a typical 6000mAh battery and 90W charging for the X7 Pro, compared with a typical 5520mAh battery and 45W charging for the M8 5G. The published charging rates favor the X7 Pro, but they do not predict a particular charge time; actual time depends on conditions. The global X7 Pro page lists a 90W charger in the box, while M8 5G package and adapter availability can vary by region.

POCO lists IP68 for the X7 Pro and IP66 for the M8 5G. These ratings are not permission for routine water exposure. The M8 5G page warns that resistance can deteriorate and says not to immerse the device.
Which is better: POCO X7 Pro or POCO M8?
- Choose the X7 Pro on specifications for demanding performance: its processor, RAM type, and storage standard are the more performance-focused combination.
- Choose the M8 5G if you prefer a slightly larger display: its screen is 0.10 inches larger diagonally, though its listed resolution is lower.
- Favor the X7 Pro for rear-camera flexibility: it adds an ultra-wide camera, while the M8 5G has a depth sensor as its secondary rear camera.
- Favor the X7 Pro for the listed charging rate and ingress rating: POCO specifies 90W charging and IP68, versus 45W and IP66 for the M8 5G.
This is a specification-based decision, not a hands-on verdict on battery life, camera image quality, or game performance.

What is the price difference?
No universal current price difference can be stated from POCO’s global specification pages: they list configurations, not one retail price valid across markets. A meaningful comparison needs the same country, RAM and storage tier, seller type, warranty terms, and date. Check local listings for the exact models—POCO X7 Pro and POCO M8 5G—and compare like with like; do not substitute the M8 Pro 5G for the standard M8.

Which POCO M8 is this comparison about?
The phone here is the standard POCO M8 5G, not the POCO M8 Pro 5G. POCO identifies them as separate models in its January 8, 2026 M8-series announcement. The standard M8 is listed at 7.35mm thick and 178g in that announcement; those figures are for the M8-series announcement and should not be assumed to describe the Pro model.
