The title’s Motorola model name needs checking: the official Motorola sources cited here identify a motorola edge 70 pro, not an “Edge 70 Pro Plus 5G.” The comparison below is therefore provisional and covers the documented edge 70 pro. On manufacturer-listed specifications, Motorola offers a larger, faster-refresh display, a higher-tier listed processor, larger battery, and higher-resolution camera modules; POCO lists a 6000mAh battery, 90W charging, and a 120Hz display. Those specifications do not establish which phone performs better in real use, and the available prices do not support a like-for-like price difference.
First, confirm the Motorola model
Motorola’s support page, product announcement, and Mexico storefront call the phone motorola edge 70 pro. They do not confirm a separate “motorola edge 70 pro plus 5G.” Do not assume the two names refer to the same device. POCO X7 Pro: high-resolution 120Hz
Xiaomi lists a 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED panel at 2712 × 1220 resolution and up to 120Hz. That is the smaller of the two listed screens, with a lower maximum refresh rate than Motorola’s specification.
Motorola edge 70 pro: larger and up to 144Hz
Motorola lists a 6.8-inch, 2772 × 1272 display with refresh rates up to 144Hz and peak brightness of 5200 nits on its UK support page. The screen is larger and its stated maximum refresh rate is higher. A higher refresh-rate ceiling alone does not establish better image quality or a smoother experience in every app; those depend on implementation and use.

The manufacturers list a Dimensity 8400-Ultra for POCO and a Dimensity 8500 Extreme for Motorola. The model names and published specifications do not provide a common benchmark or independent head-to-head measurement, so they are not enough to quantify the speed difference in games, apps, or everyday tasks.
POCO lists three memory-and-storage combinations, including a 512GB option. Motorola’s UK support page lists 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage; that listing does not establish a 512GB UK configuration. Storage tiers can differ by market, so check the precise SKU rather than assuming every configuration is available locally.

Camera hardware: more megapixels do not settle image quality
Motorola lists 50MP sensors for its main, ultrawide, and front cameras, with autofocus and macro capability on the ultrawide. POCO lists a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 20MP front camera. This is a clear difference in the listed camera hardware, particularly for the ultrawide and selfie cameras.

Xiaomi lists the POCO battery at 6000mAh typical capacity and 90W HyperCharge, and says a 90W charger is included in the box. Motorola News gives the edge 70 pro a 6500mAh typical capacity and 6300mAh rated capacity, with 90W wired and 15W wireless charging. Motorola’s UK support page lists 5W wired reverse charging. Because the capacity figures are specified differently and neither phone has a comparable endurance test here, they do not establish which lasts longer between charges.
