The POCO X8 Pro is the newer specification package. Xiaomi lists it with a MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra, a 6500mAh (typical) battery, 100W HyperCharge wired charging, and IP68 protection. The POCO X6 Pro lists a Dimensity 8300-Ultra, a 5000mAh (typical) battery, 67W turbo charging, IP54 protection, and a larger 6.67-inch display.

All of those figures are manufacturer-published specifications. No independent hands-on testing or benchmark comparison of the two phones is available, so the spec gap should be read as what each company claims, not as measured performance. On price, there is no single current difference to quote. The only dated price set available is Xiaomi Japan’s March 2026 launch pricing for the X8 Pro, and no matching X6 Pro price for the same market is established.

Read the table as a list of differences in listed specifications. Two of them favor the X8 Pro on paper (battery and charging, and the IP rating), one favors the X6 Pro (screen diagonal), and the chip and camera lines need more context before they can be compared fairly.

Chipset and performance claims

The X8 Pro carries the later chip name, Dimensity 8500-Ultra, against the X6 Pro’s Dimensity 8300-Ultra. A newer model number indicates a later chip generation, but the names alone do not tell you how fast either phone feels in daily use.

POCO’s global launch page reports an AnTuTu score of 2,283,558 for the X8 Pro, tested under POCO internal lab conditions with AnTuTu V11.0.8. That is a manufacturer-reported result. No matching X6 Pro score from the same test setup is published alongside it, so the figure cannot be used to rank the two phones.

Display

The X6 Pro has the larger screen at 6.67 inches, with a 1.5K Flow AMOLED panel. The X8 Pro uses a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel. Both are listed as supporting up to 120Hz. A listed maximum refresh rate does not mean every app runs at 120Hz, because the rate depends on app support and the refresh-rate setting chosen in the phone.

Battery and charging

Xiaomi lists the X8 Pro at 6500mAh (typical), against 5000mAh (typical) for the X6 Pro. That is about 30% more rated capacity. On charging, the X8 Pro is listed at 100W HyperCharge and the X6 Pro at 67W turbo charging.

Rated capacity and charging wattage do not establish real-world battery life. Screen use, network conditions, and software settings all change runtime, and no runtime test for either phone is part of the evidence here. Also note that a 100W rating does not guarantee a 100W adapter in the box. Xiaomi says charger availability should be confirmed with the local seller.

Cameras

The X6 Pro lists a 64MP + 8MP + 2MP rear camera setup. The X8 Pro highlights a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). Megapixel counts do not settle which phone takes better photos. Sensor size, lens design, image processing, and the OIS hardware all matter, and none of those were tested side by side here.

Dust and water protection

The two phones carry different IP ratings. The X6 Pro is listed at IP54, and the X8 Pro at IP68.

  • IP54 means protection against dust that could interfere with operation and protection against water splashes from any direction. It is not designed for immersion.
  • IP68 means the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against continuous immersion in water beyond 1 metre. The exact depth and duration are set by the manufacturer’s test conditions.

An IP rating describes certified test conditions. It does not promise that accidental damage, pool use, or saltwater exposure is covered by warranty. Check the manufacturer’s warranty terms before relying on water resistance.

Software and regional variation

Xiaomi’s product information says HyperOS feature availability may vary by region, software version, and model. The X6 Pro’s product page says network support varies by region and operator, and package contents may differ by market. Long-term software update commitments for either model are not established by the evidence available here.

Price difference: what can and cannot be said

No global or current price gap can be quoted for these two phones. Prices vary by country, retailer, and memory configuration, and the evidence covers only one market and one date. The only dated figures available are Xiaomi Japan’s suggested retail prices for the X8 Pro, published in its March 17, 2026 launch announcement, along with the early-bird prices that ran through April 6, 2026.

Xiaomi Japan launch pricing for the X8 Pro (March 2026)

Configuration Suggested retail price Early-bird price (through April 6, 2026)
8GB/256GB ¥59,980 ¥54,980
8GB/512GB ¥69,980 ¥64,980
12GB/512GB ¥74,980 ¥69,980

The early-bird prices are expired launch promotions and should not be treated as current. The same announcement does not give an X6 Pro price for Japan, so no like-for-like gap in that market can be calculated from it.

How to compare prices correctly

  1. Choose one country and one retailer type, such as official store, carrier, or marketplace seller.
  2. Match the memory and storage tier. An 8GB/256GB X8 Pro should be compared with an 8GB/256GB X6 Pro, not with a 12GB/512GB unit.
  3. Record the list price, the current sale price, and any coupon or bundle separately. These are different numbers and should not be merged.
  4. Capture all prices on the same day, and note the date in your comparison.
  5. Confirm that both listings include the same warranty, network bands for your carrier, and return policy.

Which phone fits which buyer

  • Choose the POCO X8 Pro if rated battery capacity, faster wired charging, the newer chip name, and an IP68 rating are your priorities. It is the stronger listed-specification match.
  • Choose the POCO X6 Pro if you want the larger 6.67-inch screen, or if it is clearly cheaper in your market once memory tier, seller, and warranty are matched. The price advantage is conditional on local listings you have checked yourself.

Both recommendations rest on manufacturer specifications and launch-period data, not on device testing.
