The POCO M8 5G offers a higher-resolution AMOLED display and a higher listed front-camera resolution; the realme P4R 5G has a 144Hz display and a much larger rated battery. A dated India price snapshot also puts the realme lower, but confirm current prices for matching memory and storage before buying. This is a comparison of published specifications, not a hands-on test.
POCO M8 vs realme P4R specifications
| Specification | POCO M8 5G | realme P4R 5G |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.77-inch Flow AMOLED; 2392×1080 resolution; up to 120Hz | About 6.8-inch LCD; 720×1570 resolution and 144Hz in Gadgets 360’s comparison; realme advertises 144Hz and 1200-nit peak brightness |
| Processor | Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 | MediaTek Dimensity 6300 |
| Battery and charging | 5520mAh typical capacity; 45W charging | 8000mAh; 45W fast charging |
| Rear cameras | 50MP main camera and 2MP depth camera; video recording up to 4K/30fps | 50MP rear camera listed by Gadgets 360; official page emphasizes AI imaging |
| Front camera | 20MP | 8MP listed by Gadgets 360 |
| Durability claims | IP66 dust and water resistance, per POCO, with stated limitations | IP65 dust and water resistance and MIL-STD-810H shock-resistance certification, per realme |
POCO’s display specification gives it a substantially higher pixel resolution, while realme’s headline display advantage is its 144Hz refresh rate. Resolution and refresh rate describe different things: more pixels can make fine detail look sharper, while a higher refresh rate allows more frequent screen updates. Neither specification alone establishes overall display quality.
The P4R’s listed 720×1570 resolution comes from a third-party comparison; realme’s product page advertises the refresh rate and peak brightness. The available specifications do not establish comparative brightness in use, color accuracy, or viewing quality.
Which phone has the bigger battery?
The realme P4R has the larger rated capacity: 8000mAh, compared with the POCO M8’s 5520mAh typical capacity. Both are listed with 45W charging. Capacity alone does not establish how long either phone lasts in everyday use; no independent side-by-side endurance result is available here.

How do the processors and cameras compare?
POCO specifies a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, and realme specifies a MediaTek Dimensity 6300. Those chip names identify the platforms, but without comparable benchmark results they do not establish which phone is faster in practice.
The POCO’s listed rear hardware is a 50MP main camera plus a 2MP depth camera, with rear video recording up to 4K/30fps. The P4R is listed with a 50MP rear camera. For the front camera, the comparison lists 20MP for POCO and 8MP for realme. Megapixel counts and camera specifications do not by themselves determine photo or selfie quality; no controlled camera comparison is established.

Which model should you choose?
- Consider the POCO M8 if a higher-resolution AMOLED screen and its higher listed front-camera resolution matter more to you.
- Consider the realme P4R if its larger rated battery and 144Hz refresh rate are priorities, and you confirm its lower price on a like-for-like current listing.
These are choices based on published specifications, not measured differences in performance, battery life, or image quality.

POCO lists an IP66 rating under controlled conditions and cautions that resistance can deteriorate over time; it also says not to immerse the phone. realme describes the P4R as having IP65 dust and water resistance and MIL-STD-810H shock-resistance certification. These maker-stated ratings and certifications are not guarantees that a phone is waterproof or damage-proof. Treat both devices according to their manufacturers’ limitations.
