Battery, charging, and everyday carry

REDMI lists a 7500mAh typical battery, compared with 5520mAh typical for POCO. Capacity alone does not establish which phone lasts longer in real use: that depends on factors such as workload, display settings, software, and network conditions. Both list 45W charging. REDMI specifies up to 22.5W wired reverse charging, while POCO specifies up to 18W.

The listed weights may also affect day-to-day comfort: POCO is 178g and REDMI is 232g. The REDMI’s larger screen and battery come with a 54g difference in listed weight.

Chipset, cameras, and storage

The published chipset names are Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 for POCO and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 for REDMI. Those names identify different chipsets, but the specifications alone do not establish a benchmark score or a reliable real-world performance ranking.

Both phones list a 50MP main camera. POCO also lists a 2MP depth camera and rear video recording up to 4K/30fps; REDMI lists an auxiliary lens and video up to 1080p/30fps. Camera resolution and maximum video mode do not, by themselves, establish overall image quality.

Which one should you choose?

  • Choose POCO M8 5G if you prioritize a higher-resolution AMOLED display, lower listed weight, or the published 4K/30fps rear-video capability.
