Motorola’s Japan-listed Edge 70 Fusion has a slightly larger, higher-resolution 144Hz display and a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. What the specification differences mean
Display
On paper, the Edge 70 Fusion’s Japan configuration offers a slightly larger panel, more pixels and a higher maximum refresh rate than the POCO. Those specifications describe display capability; they do not by themselves establish which screen looks better in everyday use.

Processor
The phones use different Snapdragon chips: the POCO M8 5G has a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while the Edge 70 Fusion listing names a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. The available sources provide no matched benchmark or independent speed test, so they do not quantify the real-world performance gap.

Battery and charging
POCO specifies a 5,520mAh typical battery and 45W charging, and says the power adapter is not included in the box. Check the package contents for your market and budget for a compatible charger if needed. Motorola’s cited Japan listing excerpt does not state battery capacity or charging wattage, so it cannot support a direct battery comparison.
Memory, storage and software
The listed configurations differ: Xiaomi Belgium’s launch terms include POCO models with 8GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage, while Motorola Japan lists the Edge 70 Fusion with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. These are regional offers, not proof that every market sells those exact versions. Motorola lists Android 16 for its Japan model; the cited POCO excerpt does not specify an OS version or update commitment. An OS version alone is not enough to compare how long either phone will receive updates.

The India arithmetic is straightforward: ₹30,999 minus ₹22,849 is ₹8,150. But the comparison page is dynamic, and its figures do not establish matched configurations or current offers. Check the seller, exact RAM and storage, local warranty, network variant and current price in your country before buying.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the POCO M8 5G if its current local price is lower and you value the documented 5,520mAh typical battery and 45W charging. Confirm whether a charger is included in your regional box.
- Consider the Edge 70 Fusion if the local version matches the Japan listing’s higher-resolution, up-to-144Hz display and 12GB/256GB configuration, and those specifications justify its price for you. The Japan store listing schedules release for October 23, 2026; it should not be treated as an already released product on the basis of that listing.
- Compare local versions before deciding. A phone’s name does not guarantee the same memory, network support, warranty or package contents across countries. Compare the exact regional model and seller, not just headline prices.
