The POCO M7 Plus has the larger screen, the higher listed maximum refresh rate and the bigger stated battery capacity. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 SE 5G has the AMOLED panel, the more fully documented official specification sheet, a 45W charger in the box, a higher-resolution selfie camera and, on the prices reported in 2026, a listed price about ₹8,000 higher. Neither phone has a measured performance or battery-life winner in the sources available, so the choice depends on which trade-offs matter to you.

Where the specifications come from

The Redmi Note 15 SE 5G figures in this comparison come from Xiaomi India’s own product specifications page, so they describe what Xiaomi publishes for the Indian model. The POCO M7 Plus figures come from a 91mobiles comparison page that sets the two phones side by side. We could not locate an official POCO India specification or price page for the M7 Plus, so every POCO value below should be read as a secondary, reported figure. Official POCO M7 pages do exist, but they describe a different model and do not apply here.

Display: larger screen or AMOLED panel

The POCO’s reported 6.9-inch IPS LCD is about 0.13 inches larger than the Redmi’s 6.77-inch panel on the diagonal. That difference is small in hand. The more meaningful distinction is panel technology. AMOLED panels generally offer deeper black levels and per-pixel lighting, while IPS LCDs use a backlight. Those are general differences between the panel types, not measurements of these two specific screens.

The refresh rate also favours the POCO on paper. A 144Hz maximum is higher than the Redmi’s 120Hz maximum. However, the listed maximum only matters where apps and games support it and where the setting is enabled, so it does not guarantee smoother scrolling in daily use.

Processor and performance

Both phones use Snapdragon 6-series chipsets, but the comparison page lists the POCO’s chip as “Snapdragon 6s Gen 3”, a name we could not confirm against an official POCO listing. Xiaomi’s name for the Redmi chip, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, is the one to rely on for that phone. Advertised maximum clock speeds and model names do not establish how either phone performs under load, in games or over months of use. No comparable independent benchmark for these two models was available, so this article does not name a speed winner.

Battery and charging

The POCO’s 7000mAh figure is the higher capacity on paper, and it is reported by a secondary source rather than the manufacturer. The Redmi’s 5800mAh is a typical rating from Xiaomi, which means it describes the expected capacity rather than a guaranteed minimum. Charging speed for the POCO was not stated in the source used, so we cannot compare how quickly it charges. Xiaomi lists 45W Turbo Charging and a charger in the box for the Redmi. Runtime depends on the display, chipset, software and how the phone is used, so a larger capacity figure does not by itself mean the phone lasts longer.

Cameras

The Redmi has the more detailed camera listing. Its rear system pairs a 50MP main camera with a 2MP depth sensor, and Xiaomi specifies rear recording up to 4K at 30fps. Its 20MP front camera is also higher in resolution than the POCO’s reported 8MP selfie camera. The POCO’s reported 50MP main camera is the same resolution as the Redmi’s main sensor, but no rear sensor details beyond that were stated. Megapixel counts do not predict photo quality, which depends on sensor size, lens, processing and lighting, and none of these were tested here.

Price difference in India

The 91mobiles comparison lists the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G at ₹24,999, sold via Amazon, and the POCO M7 Plus at ₹16,999, marked “Out of Stock”. The gap is ₹8,000 (₹24,999 minus ₹16,999). That is arithmetic on two reported listings from 2026, not a confirmed current price difference. The source does not say which storage configuration each price refers to, and the POCO’s out-of-stock status means it may not be purchasable at that price at all.

Before you rely on the gap, check the following on the retailer’s page:

  • The exact storage and RAM configuration, since the Redmi is offered in three variants.
  • Whether the POCO is in stock and at what price, since the reported listing was unavailable.
  • Any bank or launch offers, which can change the effective price.

Durability claims

Xiaomi’s product page states that the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G survived drop testing up to 1.7m and carries MIL-STD-810H certification. These are manufacturer claims. We did not find the underlying independent test report, and no durability information for the POCO M7 Plus was available from the source used.

Which one to choose

  • Choose the POCO M7 Plus if you want the bigger screen, the higher listed refresh rate and the larger stated battery, and you can find it in stock at a price you accept. Confirm its charging speed and storage options on a POCO India listing before buying.
  • Choose the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G if you prefer an AMOLED display, want a charger included with 45W charging, want the higher-resolution selfie camera or the 4K rear recording mode, and want a model whose specifications are confirmed on the manufacturer’s own page.
  • Stay open on price if the ₹8,000 gap is the deciding factor. Check the current in-stock price for both phones before deciding, because the reported figures may already have changed.

Do not treat this comparison as a verdict on real-world speed, battery life or photo quality. Those need hands-on or independent testing, which was not part of this comparison.
