Which PNY SSD deal is the better fit?
Choose based on your computer’s drive interface and available space, not just capacity or speed. The CS2241 is an M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe drive. The 500GB offer is a 2.5-inch SATA III drive. They are not interchangeable: a computer must support the drive’s interface and physical form factor.

Those accessories can help with a data migration, but confirm the Amazon listing’s exact contents before ordering. A migration tool does not guarantee that every operating system, drive configuration, or cloning workflow will work without additional steps.

Check compatibility before you buy
For the CS2241 NVMe drive
- Confirm that your computer has an M.2 slot that supports PCIe NVMe drives; an M.2 slot alone does not establish NVMe compatibility.
- Check the supported drive length and installation clearance. The deal describes the CS2241 as M.2 2280.
- Verify that the host system supports the drive’s PCIe generation. The deal report identifies it as Gen4, but the computer’s specifications determine what it can use.
For the 500GB SATA drive
- Confirm that the computer has a 2.5-inch drive bay and a compatible SATA data and power connection.
- TechRadar Pro reports backward compatibility with SATA II systems; check the exact model and system requirements in the listing before purchase.
- Allow for the 500GB capacity when deciding whether it is enough for your operating system, applications, and files.
If you are unsure, check the computer manufacturer’s specifications or identify the exact model and its supported storage interfaces before ordering. Do not assume a SATA drive can replace an NVMe drive, or vice versa, just because both are SSDs.
Keep the PNY model specifications separate
PNY’s official CS2130 product page describes a different 1TB M.2 NVMe model, with listed speeds up to 3,500 MB/s read and 1,800 MB/s write and a five-year limited warranty or TBW coverage. Those figures and warranty terms are for the CS2130, not the CS2241 deal.

PNY’s CS900 product page identifies a 500GB option in its 2.5-inch SATA III family. The page reviewed gives speeds of up to 535 MB/s read and 515 MB/s write, plus a three-year limited warranty or TBW, for its 1TB specification—not for the 500GB SKU. Use the exact 500GB listing or SKU to verify its specifications and warranty rather than transferring figures from another capacity.
Are these October 2026 Amazon deals worth buying?
At the reported prices, the CS2241 kit is the more capable option on paper and offers twice the capacity, but it only makes sense if your system supports M.2 NVMe. The 500GB SATA drive is the relevant choice for a compatible 2.5-inch SATA system, including older machines that lack an NVMe slot. The deal reports do not establish whether either price is currently available or how it compares with a long-term historical price.
