PlatinumGames CEO Atsushi Inaba said he wants to expand Bayonetta as a character and broaden her world, but he did not announce a new game. Asked directly whether fans should expect one, he replied “no comment.” The exchange came in a Famitsu interview about the Bayonetta costume collaboration with Stellar Blade.
What Inaba said about Bayonetta’s future
In Famitsu’s interview with Inaba and SHIFT UP CEO and Stellar Blade director Kim Hyung Tae, Inaba was asked whether PlatinumGames had a next move ready for Bayonetta. He said he could not answer at that time, then expressed a strong desire to develop Bayonetta as a character and broaden her world. He asked readers to wait and see what form that might take. Nintendo Everything’s English translation renders his central statement as: “As for Bayonetta, I strongly feel that I want to expand her as a character and broaden her world. Please wait to see exactly what shape that will take.”

When asked specifically whether fans should expect a next game, Inaba answered: “I’m sorry, but ‘no comment’ (laughs).” That leaves the possibility open, but it is not confirmation that Bayonetta 4 or another Bayonetta game is in development. Famitsu’s interview also includes a joke about working until “Bayonetta 10”; it is not a roadmap.
How the comments relate to the Stellar Blade crossover
The interview was conducted in connection with a Bayonetta costume collaboration for Stellar Blade. Inaba said PlatinumGames had also been exploring a Bayonetta collaboration, while Kim described the initial effort as costume-only and said he hoped a future opportunity could allow for more content. Those comments describe interest and possibilities, not a confirmed second collaboration. Famitsu’s interview
#1 Best Overall
- Witch fell her angel with her smile and beautiful black hair
- The Nintendo Switch is the origin of the action game series that works with the beautiful and brutal witch "Beyonetta"
- The thrill of throwing off your enemy attacks with a single sheet of paper, and the variety of combos will overwhelm your enemy. You can enjoy brilliant and extreme climax action with the angels of attacking
What was announced
PlatinumGames’ September 30, 2026 announcement said four Bayonetta collaboration outfits had been announced for Stellar Blade. It said the fourth outfit was unveiled at Tokyo Game Show 2026 and designed by Kim Hyung Tae. The announcement scheduled the costumes for November 5, 2026 (PT/GMT) on PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. That is the announced schedule, not confirmation here that the release has since taken place.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Complete Edition
Famitsu describes the Nintendo Switch 2 Complete Edition as including the collaboration outfits. Kim said the physical package cartridge contains the game data. These details concern a Stellar Blade edition, not a standalone Bayonetta release. Famitsu’s interview and product details
