The Pixel 10a launched in the United States at $499, but its reported Google Store price is now $599 for 128GB or $699 for 256GB. 9to5Google reported the increase on October 2, 2026, and said Amazon and Best Buy had updated their prices as well. Google had not publicly explained the change at the time.
What changed in the Pixel 10a’s price?
Google announced the Pixel 10a at $499 on February 18, 2026, with sales beginning March 5. That launch price was for the 128GB model. As reported by 9to5Google on October 2, 2026, the US prices had become $599 for 128GB and $699 for 256GB—$100 more at each storage tier.

Google had not officially explained the increase when 9to5Google reported it. The report points to rising component costs, including memory, as a likely explanation. That is an informed explanation, not a confirmed statement from Google.

Is the Pixel 10a still worth $599?
At $599, the 128GB Pixel 10a costs $100 more than its announced US launch price. Whether that price works for you depends on what you value and what competing phones or promotions are available when you buy. Google’s launch announcement describes a phone built around its Tensor G4 chip and Pixel features including Gemini, Gemini Live, Circle to Search, and Nano Banana; these are manufacturer-described capabilities, not an independent performance assessment.
Google also claims more than 30 hours of battery life, or up to 120 hours with Extreme Battery Saver. It promises seven years of operating-system and security updates and Pixel Drops, counted from launch. Those support and battery claims can matter if you plan to keep the phone for years, but they do not erase the higher upfront cost.

Should you choose 128GB or 256GB?
The reported difference between the two models is $100. The 256GB version may suit you if you regularly keep large games, videos, or offline media on your phone and prefer not to manage storage. If you rely on cloud storage, stream most media, or routinely clear out files, 128GB may be sufficient. The report does not establish any other hardware difference between the two storage tiers.
