The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the lower-priced option in the cited U.S. starting-price comparison: Google lists it from $1,799, while Android Central reports $2,100 for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra—a $301 difference. The Samsung is notably lighter and thinner, and Samsung advertises faster wired charging; Google specifies IP68 protection and built-in Qi2 wireless charging. Neither phone is a clear winner for every buyer: screen shape, camera needs, current offers, and how much you value portability matter.
How much do the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra cost?
For the U.S., Google’s Store lists the Pixel 10 Pro Fold from $1,799, and Android Central’s 2026 comparison reports a $2,100 starting price for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Using those cited starting prices, Samsung costs $301 more. These are not guaranteed checkout prices: retailer and carrier offers can change the gap, so compare current prices for the storage configuration you want.
Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold specifications and listed price and Android Central’s side-by-side comparison are the sources for those figures.

Which phone has the better screen for the way you use a foldable?
Both have an 8-inch inner display in the cited specifications, but diagonal size does not tell the whole story. Samsung emphasizes a 4:3 inner-screen ratio and a 10:16 cover-screen ratio. Android Central lists the Samsung cover screen at 6.5 inches; Google lists the Pixel cover screen at 6.4 inches. Those diagonals are close, but the proportions affect how much content fits and how the phone feels in one hand.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Consider the Pixel if Google’s 6.4-inch cover display suits your preferred reach and grip. Google also promotes the Fold’s large inner display in its Pixel 10 Pro Fold announcement.
- Consider the Samsung if its stated 10:16 cover and 4:3 inner ratios better match how you want to use the outer screen and unfolded display. Try both in person if cover-screen typing or one-handed use is a deciding factor.
How do the cameras compare?
The listed rear-camera hardware differs in resolution and zoom range, but megapixels alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos. Software processing, lighting, motion, and the specific camera mode all affect results; the cited specifications do not provide a controlled photo-quality comparison.
| Rear camera | Pixel 10 Pro Fold | Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Main/wide | 48 MP wide (Google) | 200 MP main (Samsung launch material) |
| Ultrawide | 10.5 MP (Google) | 50 MP (Samsung launch material) |
| Telephoto | 10.8 MP, 5x (Google) | 10 MP, 3x (Android Central) |
If distant subjects are important, the Pixel’s listed 5x telephoto offers a longer stated optical reach than Samsung’s listed 3x telephoto. That specification does not by itself prove which phone produces the better zoomed image. For a camera-led decision, compare sample photos taken in the situations you care about rather than choosing by resolution alone.

Which is more durable, and what do the ratings mean?
Google specifies IP68 water and dust resistance for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold; Android Central lists IP48 for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. The first digit denotes dust protection and the second water protection in the IP code, so these published ratings indicate different protection levels—especially for dust. They are not promises that either phone is damage-proof, and an IP rating does not remove the need to follow each manufacturer’s care guidance.

Google described the Pixel as “our most durable foldable yet” in its August 20, 2025 announcement. That is Google’s product positioning, not an independent durability ranking. Samsung’s Fold8-family announcement discusses the foldables’ construction, but the cited materials do not establish an independently tested durability winner.

Which is easier to carry?
In the comparison figures, the Samsung is both lighter and thinner when folded:
| Measure | Pixel 10 Pro Fold | Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | 258 g | 215 g |
| Folded thickness | 10.8 mm | 8.9 mm |
If you carry your phone in a pocket or hold it for long periods, that difference may matter more than a small difference in screen diagonal. The figures above are the comparison’s listed measurements; check the manufacturers’ specifications for the exact configuration and measurement basis before purchase.

How do battery capacity and charging compare?
Google specifies a 5,015 mAh typical battery capacity for the Pixel. Samsung’s UK launch article gives the Ultra a 5,000 mAh battery. Those stated capacities are close, but capacity alone does not predict battery life: display use, network conditions, software, and workload all matter. The Samsung figure comes from a UK launch source and should not be confused with the separate 4,800 mAh figure Samsung gives for the standard Galaxy Z Fold8.

| Wireless | Built-in Qi2 magnetic charging, up to 15W (Google) | Not stated in the cited launch material |
These are manufacturer specifications, not a controlled comparison of charging time. Google’s built-in Qi2 support is useful if you want magnetic wireless charging without relying on a special case for alignment. Before buying a charger, stand, or case, verify that the specific accessory supports the phone and the charging standard you intend to use.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Pixel 10 Pro Fold if
- The cited lower starting price and Google’s listed IP68 rating are priorities.
- You want built-in Qi2 magnetic charging and Google’s specified 5x telephoto camera.
- You prefer its 6.4-inch cover display and are comfortable with the listed 258 g weight and 10.8 mm folded thickness.
Choose the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra if
- You value the Samsung’s 215 g weight and 8.9 mm folded thickness.
- The 4:3 inner-screen shape or 10:16 cover-screen shape suits your workflow.
- You prefer Samsung’s listed 200 MP main camera and 50 MP ultrawide hardware, or its advertised 45W wired charging.
Before deciding, check live prices and try the cover screens if possible. The available specifications describe meaningful trade-offs, but they do not establish a universal winner for camera quality, battery life, or overall value.
