PITAKA’s Edge is the clearest ultra-light option in the available coverage: Digital Camera World reports it at 1.2 mm thick and 25 g. But those figures do not establish how well it withstands drops. PITAKA lists cases for iPhone 18 Pro Max and promotes reinforced drop protection and shock resistance; those remain manufacturer claims, not independently verified protection results.
Which iPhone 18 models do the PITAKA cases fit?
Apple announced iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 9, 2026. Apple said availability would begin September 18 in more than 65 countries and regions, followed by 20 more markets on September 25. PITAKA’s iPhone 18 Pro Max collection lists cases for that exact model. PITAKA’s iPhone 18 series collection shows variants across the generation, but check the selected phone size and finish on the live product page before ordering.
Pro and Pro Max are distinct phone sizes, so do not assume a case listed for one fits the other. Apple’s launch announcement also lists Apple TechWoven, Clear, and Silicone cases with MagSafe as first-party alternatives.

Digital Camera World reports the PITAKA Edge at 1.2 mm thick and 25 g, describing its aerospace-grade aramid-fiber construction as slim and textured. These are that publication’s reported specifications and impressions; they are not measurements made for this article. Is a PITAKA case protective enough for iPhone 18 Pro Max?
PITAKA describes its aramid-fiber case as thin, lightweight, and MagSafe-compatible, and its collection uses terms including reinforced drop protection and shock resistance. These are manufacturer claims. The available independent coverage does not provide a comparable drop-test method or result for the PITAKA cases, nor evidence establishing a protection rating.
For a protection-focused choice, assess the actual coverage shown on the specific product page rather than relying on “rugged” language alone.
