If you were denied a phone plan because of a credit check, prepaid service is the clearest alternative: you pay in advance instead of asking a carrier to extend postpaid billing credit. AT&T Prepaid, Connect by T-Mobile, and Verizon Prepaid explicitly say their prepaid service does not require a credit check. The five choices below are plan tiers or offers from those three carriers—not five separate providers.
Five no-credit-check prepaid options
These prices and terms were listed on official carrier pages reviewed October 7, 2026. They can change, and advertised prices may depend on eligibility, Auto Pay, activation method, taxes, or other conditions. Check the linked carrier page for the terms in effect when you sign up.

How prepaid avoids the postpaid credit check
With prepaid service, you pay for service in advance rather than receiving a postpaid bill that the carrier must trust you to pay later. The carriers above expressly state that their prepaid service does not require a credit check: AT&T advertises “No Annual Contract, No Credit Checks,” Connect by T-Mobile says a credit check is not required, and Verizon says its prepaid service has no annual contracts or credit checks. Compare the real cost and data limits
Do not judge an offer by its monthly headline alone. Compare what you must pay to start, what recurs, and what happens when you use the included data.

- Cash due now: AT&T’s $20 monthly equivalent requires $240 paid upfront for a full year. That is not a month-to-month $20 bill.
- Data after the allowance: Connect’s listed tiers end on-network data access when the 5GB, 8GB, or 12GB allotment is used. AT&T’s annual offer continues data at speeds reduced to a maximum of 1.5 Mbps after 16GB.
- Extra charges and conditions: Check taxes, fees, activation or device connection charges, Auto Pay requirements, and any new-line or eligible-purchase rules. The Connect 5GB plan specifically lists a device connection charge due at sale.
- How long you are committing: An annual prepayment can reduce the monthly equivalent but ties up the full amount at signup. Monthly prepaid options avoid that year-long upfront payment.
- What you need from service: Check hotspot and international needs, as well as the plan’s data and video terms, before choosing. The listed offers do not establish every feature for every plan.
Check phone compatibility and coverage before switching
Prepaid service does not mean every phone will work on every network. Check coverage where you live, work, and travel, then confirm that your exact handset model is compatible and unlocked. AT&T says most unlocked Android and iPhone devices newer than iPhone 6 work with its prepaid service; Connect by T-Mobile supports bringing your own device. You may not need to buy a phone at all if you already have an eligible handset. If you do need one, check the exact model with the carrier before purchasing and verify that it is unlocked.

A service plan does not guarantee phone financing
Getting prepaid service without a credit check does not mean you can finance a handset without a separate eligibility review. Buying a phone in installments, using a lease-to-own arrangement, or upgrading through postpaid service is a different transaction with its own approval rules and total cost. Review those terms separately before assuming a device can be purchased with no credit check. T-Mobile Smartphone Equality describes a distinct route for some existing qualifying T-Mobile or Metro prepaid customers: after 12 months of on-time payments, they may qualify to switch to postpaid, get select-device $0-down pricing, and skip a credit check. It is not an immediate option for every applicant.
Why some other prepaid offers are not on this list
A prepaid price or no-contract offer alone does not establish that a carrier does not check credit. Cricket’s Select Unlimited listing shows $35 per month with Auto Pay ($40 for the first month), unlimited data, possible temporary slowdowns on busy networks, and SD video; its broadband facts disclosure shows $40 per month before discounts. The reviewed plan information does not explicitly confirm a no-credit-check policy, so it is not included as a verified option. Cricket plan details.
