The Philips Hue Signe Gradient Floor Lamp is a 57.4-inch-tall, exceptionally slim smart lamp designed to cast blended white and colored light across a nearby wall. Its narrow profile and Hue app customization make it a distinctive accent light, but its premium price and non-replaceable LED make it a considered purchase rather than a practical fit for everyone.
What the Signe Gradient Floor Lamp does best
The Signe is built around a simple effect: aim its narrow illuminated rod toward a wall and it spreads a broad wash of blended color or white light across the surface. Unlike a conventional floor lamp with a shade, it puts the light on the wall rather than directing most of it down into the room. That makes it useful for ambient lighting, scenes, and adding color behind a sofa or beside a desk.
At 57.4 inches tall, with a footprint under 4.5 inches according to Stephen Warwick’s 2022 iMore review, it can fit into a narrow space where a bulkier lamp would be awkward. Warwick also found it bright enough to use as a desk spotlight. Those are his review observations, not new hands-on testing.

Philips lists the white US model as product number 046677803506 and priced it at $379.99 when its product page was accessed in 2026. That is a dated listing, not a guaranteed current price; check the live listing for the finish, seller, availability, and price in your region. Setup, Bluetooth, and the Hue Bridge
The lamp supports Hue app control over Bluetooth, and Philips says basic Bluetooth control does not require a Hue Bridge or Wi-Fi. That makes it possible to get started without buying a hub. The choice changes when you want broader Hue functions or a particular smart-home integration.

Do I need a Hue Bridge to control the Signe gradient lamps?
No—not for Bluetooth control, according to Philips. A Bridge can unlock additional Hue features; Philips specifically identifies Entertainment features and MotionAware automations as Bridge Pro capabilities. Requirements depend on the feature and setup, so check the current Hue compatibility details before buying a hub.
Can I use Signe gradient lamps in an Entertainment area?
Philips describes Entertainment features among those unlocked by Bridge Pro. The exact hardware and setup requirement depends on the current Hue system and feature. Do not assume Bluetooth-only control provides the same functionality as an expanded Hue setup.

What other platforms are listed?
Philips lists Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home, IFTTT, Klikaanklikuit, Matter, Samsung SmartThings, and Sonos. Actual controls can depend on the hub, software, region, and the specific feature you want. Warwick’s 2022 iMore review found an extra Bridge purchase necessary for Apple Home/Siri control in his setup; that historical experience is not a universal statement about every current Apple Home configuration.
Who should buy it—and who should look elsewhere?
It makes sense if
- You want a tall accent lamp with a very small floor footprint.
- Your priority is a blended color wash on a wall, with tunable white light and Hue scenes.
- You already use Hue and can make use of its wider automation or entertainment features.
Consider another option if
- You mainly want the lowest-cost way to add colored floor lighting. iMore identified Govee RGBIC floor lamps as a cheaper competing category in 2022, but those prices are historical; compare current models and prices directly.
- You want a replaceable bulb or a physical onboard switch. Philips specifies an integrated, non-replaceable LED, and the reviewed product’s appeal centers on app-based smart lighting.
- You do not expect to use Hue scenes, integrations, or ecosystem features enough to justify its premium price.
What to compare before choosing an alternative
Do not compare smart floor lamps on price alone. Check the current price and finish, height and footprint, white-light brightness, whether colors blend along the lamp or are presented as separate zones, app and platform support, hub requirements for your intended controls, physical controls, and whether the light source can be replaced. Those differences determine whether a cheaper RGBIC lamp is a genuine substitute for the Signe or simply a lower-cost way to get colored light.
