The results and voting figures were reported by the Associated Press on October 2, 2026. The AP described the selectors as a panel of baseball writers, broadcasters, reporters and researchers that included several former players, managers and executives. Its report does not give a complete ballot-scoring method or say that any one statistic determined a winner.
Why Crow-Armstrong’s season stood out
In the AP’s 2026 season figures, Crow-Armstrong hit .280 with 45 home runs and 41 stolen bases, joining the 40-40 club. He scored 119 runs, tied for the major-league lead in home runs, ranked second with a .943 OPS and placed fourth with 107 RBIs. These numbers describe his season; the award report does not present them as a formal explanation of the panel’s vote.
