For PayPal support in the United States, start with PayPal’s Contact Us page and select the issue you need help with. PayPal shows the contact options available for that issue, which may include chat or a phone call. The User Agreement lists (888) 221-1161 for customer-support matters, including disputes, but PayPal’s contact flow is the best place to check which route is currently offered for your situation.
Which PayPal contact route should you use?
PayPal’s support options depend on the issue. Use the official Contact Us flow to choose a topic such as account access, payments, disputes, or business support, then follow the option shown. PayPal’s US customer-service help article says the PayPal Assistant can answer questions or connect customers to a live agent by chat or phone.

How do I contact PayPal if my account is locked?
PayPal’s instructions for a locked account are to go to Contact Us, choose Call Us, and click call us as a guest to see phone details. This route is useful when signing in is not possible; follow the live page rather than relying on a number found elsewhere.

Why is 402-935-7733 on my bank or card statement?
PayPal says 402-935-7733 may appear on a bank or card statement when a merchant uses PayPal to process a card payment. PayPal directs customers to check recent PayPal activity to identify the transaction. A statement appearance alone does not mean this is the general customer-support number.
What if I’m outside the United States?

- If locked out, use the guest call route to reveal phone details.
- If a charge is the reason for your call, check recent PayPal activity first, especially if 402-935-7733 appears on your statement.
