For a past Wordle answer, look it up by date or puzzle number in an archive; to search by the word itself, use an alphabetized or sortable list. The latest dated entries in the sources checked here are puzzle #1936, PROVE, for October 7, 2026; #1935, DIMLY, for October 6; and #1934, MOCHA, for October 5. These are third-party archives, not an official New York Times answer-history listing.
Where to find past Wordle answers
Different archives suit different kinds of lookup. Check the page’s latest entry or update date before relying on its coverage: daily additions make older endpoints and answer totals go stale.

Look up a solution by date or puzzle number
By date
Open a dated archive and match the calendar date to its answer entry. WordFinder’s October 7, 2026 listing provides a recent example: #1936 was PROVE, #1935 was DIMLY on October 6, and #1934 was MOCHA on October 5. If two archives disagree, check their dates and entries rather than assuming they cover identical histories.
By puzzle number
Use a number-based table or an archive with puzzle-number navigation. The consulted archives describe the sequence as beginning at #0, CIGAR, on June 19, 2021. The numbering is useful for cross-checking an entry, but a number alone does not establish that a third-party archive has reproduced every official answer or correction.

Find an answer alphabetically
For a known solution whose date you have forgotten, use an alphabetized index such as TechRadar’s list, which is arranged alphabetically and grouped by month. A sortable Number/Answer/Date table such as PastWordle.com’s is another way to scan by answer. A date-first archive may be more useful if you remember when you played but not the word.

No single source cited here establishes a fully verified historical sequence, including all official corrections. WordFinder supplies a current dated endpoint through October 7, 2026, while TechRadar’s page was last updated September 29. Those different dates explain why TechRadar’s 1,928-answer figure should not be presented as the current total. The consulted pages also do not establish that all providers agree row by row.

Use the archives as independent reference tools, and note which page and update date you used when citing a past answer. The New York Times spokesperson Jordan Cohen said in a November 29, 2022 Axios report that Wordle would continue to be curated to respect randomness; that historical comment about curation is not a present-day guarantee or verification of any archive’s historical list.
