A passenger has alleged that train 26901, the Sabarmati-to-Veraval Vande Bharat, had untidy exterior areas, broken glass and rusted toilets during a journey on October 2, 2026. Hindustan Times reported that the passenger, Himanshu Mukerjee, posted photographs on X. The DRM Ahmedabad account reportedly said the pictured spots were unacceptable and had been rectified, but the newspaper said it had not independently verified the social-media claims.
What the passenger reported
According to Hindustan Times, Mukerjee described untidy exteriors, broken glass and rusted toilets aboard train 26901, which runs from Sabarmati to Veraval. The report says his X post included photographs. His broader description of the train as among India’s dirtiest and shabbiest Vande Bharats is his allegation, not an independently established comparison.
What the railway account said
Hindustan Times attributed a response to the DRM Ahmedabad account that began, “Dear Sir, we take your feedback seriously.” The account reportedly called the pictured spots unacceptable and below standards, described them as isolated incidents, and said maintenance staff had given them special attention and completely rectified them. That repair status is the account’s claim as reported by the newspaper.

Hindustan Times said its report was based on user-generated social-media content and that it had not independently verified the claims. The available report does not establish whether the photographs represent the entire train, how long the conditions may have persisted, or whether anyone independently inspected the reported repairs.
