Neither stock is an automatic winner. Parker-Hannifin may merit closer study if you want motion-and-control technologies serving industrial and aerospace markets. Eaton may fit better if you want greater exposure to power management, electrical infrastructure, and electrification, alongside aerospace and mobility businesses. Their latest reported periods differ, and the available figures do not establish which share is cheaper. Your choice depends on business exposure, execution risks, valuation at a common date, and how the stock fits your portfolio.
How Parker-Hannifin and Eaton differ
Both companies sell engineered products into industrial markets, but their central business exposures are distinct. Parker-Hannifin describes its business as motion-and-control technology: it designs, manufactures, and supports products for aerospace and defense, industrial equipment, transportation, off-highway vehicles, energy, and HVAC and refrigeration. Its FY2026 Form 10-K is the appropriate source for its latest segment and geographic detail.
Eaton describes itself as a power-management company. Its products serve data centers, utilities, industry, commercial and residential buildings, machine building, aerospace, and mobility. Electrification, digitalization, infrastructure investment, and data-center demand are among the strategic drivers in its FY2025 annual report. Those themes provide context for Eaton’s recent results, but they do not guarantee continued growth.

What the latest results show—and what they do not
Parker’s latest full-year results are for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026. Eaton’s latest results covered its second quarter, also ended June 30, 2026. The periods are not equivalent: do not read Eaton’s quarterly figures as a full-year comparison with Parker’s annual figures.

| Measure | Parker-Hannifin | Eaton |
|---|---|---|
| Reporting period | FY2026, ended June 30, 2026 | Q2 2026, ended June 30, 2026 |
| Sales | $21.5 billion; up 8.3% for the full fiscal year | $8.5 billion; up 21% for the quarter |
| Organic sales growth | 6.6% for FY2026 | 14% for Q2 2026; acquisitions contributed a further 7% to sales growth |
| Segment operating margin | 24.5% reported; 27.3% adjusted for FY2026. The adjusted figure is non-GAAP. | 23.1% for Q2 2026; the release reports segment margin |
| Cash flow | $4.4 billion operating cash flow, equal to 20.3% of sales, in FY2026 | $1.1 billion operating cash flow and $874 million free cash flow in Q2 2026 |
| Adjusted EPS | $32.31 for FY2026; GAAP EPS was $28.48 | $3.15 for Q2 2026 |
The figures come from Parker’s FY2026 results release and Eaton’s Q2 2026 results release. Margin definitions and reporting periods matter: Parker’s adjusted margin is not its reported margin, and a quarter’s performance is not directly comparable with a full fiscal year. Organic growth excludes acquisition contribution, so Eaton’s 14% organic growth and additional 7% acquisition contribution describe different sources of its reported sales growth.
Eaton’s FY2025 segment mix
Eaton’s annual report gives another view of its business mix, but these figures are for the calendar year ended December 31, 2025 and precede the company’s 2026 segment reorganization.
Rank #2
- Globally interchangeable with other manufacturer's couplings complying to ISO 7241 series B
- Multi-purpose coupling, widely used in varied applications
- Metal valve stop prevents flow checking to provide steady performance
- Brass couplers have double O-rings for redundant sealing and stainless steel locking balls for corrosion resistance
| Eaton FY2025 segment | Net sales | Operating margin |
|---|---|---|
| Electrical Americas | $13.276 billion | 29.9% |
| Electrical Global | $6.815 billion | 19.4% |
| Aerospace | $4.249 billion | 23.9% |
Eaton reported FY2025 revenue of $27.4 billion. That calendar-year total is not a like-for-like annual comparison with Parker’s FY2026 sales.
Growth signals, backlog, and company outlook
Eaton’s Q2 2026 release reported 12-month rolling average order growth of 41% in Electrical Americas, 33% in Electrical Global, and 17% in Aerospace. At the end of June 2026, year-over-year backlog growth was 33%, 103%, and 28%, respectively. These are company-reported segment metrics for that period, not guarantees of future sales or earnings.

- Steel nipples have a hardened body for strength and durability
- Metal valve stop prevents flow checking to provide steady performance
Eaton raised its full-year 2026 organic-growth guidance to 11–13% and adjusted-EPS guidance to $13.40–$13.60. Guidance is management’s outlook and may change. CEO Paulo Ruiz said in the July 31, 2026 results release, “While data centers remain a key growth driver, we are benefiting from robust demand across our end markets.” That is management’s characterization of demand, not an independent forecast.
Parker reported 6.6% organic sales growth for FY2026 and forecast a record FY2027, citing a broadening industrial recovery and positive organic growth across market verticals. Chairman and CEO Jenny Parmentier made that forecast in the August 6, 2026 results release. It is a company outlook, not an established future result. Parker also reported nearly $2 billion returned through share repurchases and dividends in FY2026 and an 11% increase in its annual dividend for that fiscal year; those past capital returns do not establish future returns.

Risks that could affect either investment case
Parker-Hannifin
Parker’s results can be affected by market conditions, customer and distributor orders, manufacturing and air-travel trends, and shifts in demand across its end markets. Its FY2026 Form 10-K also identifies currency and interest rates, raw-material costs and availability, trade policy, labor and supply-chain interruptions, cybersecurity, geopolitical conditions, and acquisition integration as risks. For a diversified industrial company, broad market exposure can spread demand across sectors, but it does not remove cyclicality or execution risk.

Eaton
Eaton’s Q2 2026 release identifies end-market volatility, acquisition integration, input and labor availability, tariffs, geopolitical conditions, cybersecurity, and uncertainty around its planned Mobility separation. Its FY2025 annual report also shows that strength in data-center and electrical markets coexisted with weaker vehicle and eMobility markets. A portfolio spanning several end markets can still have uneven segment cycles.

Eaton announced a plan to separate Mobility through a Reverse Morris Trust transaction, which it expected to close in Q1 2027 subject to conditions. It remains a planned transaction, not a completed separation. Investors weighing Eaton should consider both the potential change in its business mix and the risk that the transaction does not close as planned.

Business results alone cannot establish which share is the better value. The materials cited here do not provide a common-date share price, market capitalization, forward earnings estimate, or valuation multiple for both companies. A reader making a price-based comparison needs metrics from the same date and data provider, with the period and basis identified—for example, trailing or forward earnings and GAAP or adjusted figures. Without that matched comparison, there is no supported conclusion that either stock is cheaper or more attractive on price.
For current company disclosures, use Eaton Investor Relations and Parker-Hannifin Financial Results. A valuation check should complement—not replace—consideration of business mix, risks, and your own investment horizon.
Which stock may fit your portfolio?
- Research Parker-Hannifin further if you want broad motion-and-control exposure spanning industrial applications and aerospace, and are comfortable assessing industrial-cycle sensitivity, acquisition execution, and Parker’s ability to meet its outlook.
- Research Eaton further if you want a business centered on power management, electrical infrastructure, and electrification, including exposure to data-center demand, and are prepared to evaluate segment cycles, acquisition execution, and the planned Mobility separation.
- Compare both on a matched basis if either could fit. Consider same-date valuation measures, the latest comparable annual periods, growth sources, margins on clearly labeled bases, cash generation, and how much overlapping industrial exposure you already hold.
The reported growth rates and margins describe different periods and measures, while company outlooks and backlog are not promises. The better portfolio fit therefore depends on the exposure you seek, your tolerance for cyclical and execution risks, your existing holdings, and valuation at the time you invest.
