PAO PAO is a seaside life-simulation game with restaurant management, farming, fishing, home customization, and online co-op for up to four players. It is comparable to Animal Crossing in its cozy town-life premise, not an official Animal Crossing game or a claim of identical gameplay. A free Steam demo was reported playable in September 2026; demo availability can change, so check the store listing before downloading.
What is PAO PAO?
Developed by ArtDock and published by Dreland Enterprises, PAO PAO is built around life in a seaside town. Players can manage a restaurant, explore the town, customize their character and locations, and take part in everyday activities such as growing crops, fishing, and gathering resources. Steam also describes changing weather, seasons, and a day-night cycle.
The Animal Crossing comparison fits the broad appeal of town routines, customization, and low-pressure activities. PAO PAO adds a restaurant-management loop in which players arrange equipment, set a menu, cook, and serve customers. It is a separate game, with no stated affiliation with Nintendo or the Animal Crossing series.
How does four-player co-op work?
Steam lists online co-op for up to four players, and says the game can also be played solo. Friends can work together on the restaurant and its development, or split up to explore. The listing also describes shared leisure activities including boat races, basketball, and water-gun play. The supported mode is online co-op; the listing does not establish local or couch co-op.

Steam estimates Early Access will last roughly 6 to 12 months. Planned additions include more character progression and customization, new areas and activities, greater depth in cooking, customer service, fishing, and gardening, plus town progression, NPC interactions, and seasonal activities.
