The Panasonic Eco Max Light MC-CG524 is a corded, bagged canister vacuum with a 3 L dust bag, manufacturer-listed HEPA filtration and a stated 10 m action radius on Panasonic New Zealand’s specifications page. Panasonic publishes useful details about its features and maintenance, but the available sources do not include independent tests of cleaning performance, noise, durability or filtration.

These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. Panasonic Australia describes the motor as a “1400W ECO-Max Light Motor.” Power consumption and suction power are separate figures, so the 1400 W motor rating should not be read as a measured cleaning result.
What the feature list means for everyday use
Bagged collection and capacity
The MC-CG524 collects dust in a replaceable bag rather than a reusable bin. Panasonic lists 3 L capacity, but does not specify how long a bag lasts in a particular home. Actual replacement frequency depends on use and what is being vacuumed, and ongoing bag costs are part of ownership.

Panasonic New Zealand lists variable power and on-board tool and rod storage. A bag-full indicator and fail-safe closure are also listed; these are practical design features, but the specifications do not establish how well the indicator works or how reliably the closure prevents operation without a correctly fitted bag.

Reach and carrying
Panasonic New Zealand specifies a 7 m cord and a 10 m action radius. The radius is the manufacturer’s stated reach figure, not a guarantee for every room layout or outlet position. The same regional page lists the unit at 4.5 kg. That published mass is useful for comparison, but it does not by itself establish how easy the vacuum is to carry or maneuver.
Does the Panasonic MC-CG524 have a HEPA filter?
Yes. Panasonic New Zealand lists HEPA filtration, and the operating-instructions page identifies exhaust HEPA filter YMV72K95000 for the MC-CG524. The instructions also list a pre-motor filter. The manufacturer information establishes the named filter type and part reference; it does not provide independent filtration testing or a basis for calling the vacuum allergy-safe.

Which bags fit the Panasonic MC-CG524?
The Panasonic operating instructions identify TYPE C-17H dust bags for the MC-CG524. Panasonic New Zealand separately lists AMC-J2EPEX bags as compatible. The sources do not say that these identifiers refer to the same bag, so do not assume they are interchangeable based on the names alone.
Before ordering, check the model and regional SKU on the vacuum’s label, consult its manual, or verify the exact model against the seller’s compatibility chart. A useful search phrase is “Panasonic MC-CG524 TYPE C-17H vacuum bags.”

Accessories and what may come in the box
Panasonic New Zealand lists the PANTURBO-S15 turbo head and PANTURBO-S14 mini turbo head as compatible attachments. The listing does not establish that either accessory is included with every MC-CG524 bundle or currently available from local sellers. Confirm bundle contents and connector compatibility before buying an attachment.
Regional model and purchase details
The MC-CG524 appears under regional SKU variants including MC-CG524KG43 and MC-CG524WG43; Panasonic also has a Swedish MC-CG524WC79 listing. Specifications, plugs, accessory bundles, energy labels and availability may differ by country, so check the exact SKU rather than assuming one market’s listing applies everywhere.

Panasonic’s operating instructions specify 230–240 V at 50 Hz. Anyone considering an imported unit should check local voltage and plug compatibility before purchase.

That volatile listing may change and does not establish the current price, stock or value in New Zealand or any other market; check the seller’s live listing before making a purchase.

The manufacturer pages provide a clear picture of the MC-CG524’s stated design, parts and specifications. They do not provide independent, hands-on results for pickup on different floors, suction under use, noise, durability or real-world filtration. Panasonic Australia and Sweden display user-review sections, but the retrieved pages contain no review text. A comparative performance or value verdict is therefore not established by these sources.
On paper, it is a compact-format bagged canister with a stated 3 L capacity, HEPA filtration and a manufacturer-listed 10 m action radius. Whether its floor head, pickup, sound level, ongoing bag cost and durability suit a particular home remains unverified.
