The Palit GeForce RTX 3070 JetStream OC is a large, factory-overclocked 1440p-class graphics card with 8GB of memory, a substantial cooler and two 8-pin power inputs. It can be a worthwhile used buy if the price is right and your case has room for its 304mm length, 60mm thickness and central power sockets. Its 2020 review results are historical, so they should not be treated as a measure of performance on current drivers.

What is the Palit RTX 3070 JetStream OC?

The JetStream OC (product code NE63070T19P2-1040J) is Palit’s custom version of NVIDIA’s Ampere-generation GeForce RTX 3070. It combines the RTX 3070 GPU with Palit’s oversized cooler, dual BIOS and factory-rated boost clock of 1815MHz. Palit lists the card’s specifications and features on its official product page.

How good is it for gaming?

The RTX 3070 is best considered a 1440p-class card. Its 8GB of GDDR6 and support for ray tracing and DLSS give it a broad feature set, but performance depends on the game, settings, resolution, driver and whether DLSS is available. The card’s memory capacity is a practical limit to keep in mind for demanding newer games and high-resolution texture settings; the supplied specifications alone do not establish a current game-by-game frame rate.

In its review published on 17 November 2020, HEXUS described the Palit as among the quickest RTX 3070s tested in its lab. That is a qualitative result from that review’s test period, not a guarantee that this exact card will outperform other RTX 3070 models in every system or with current drivers.

TechPowerUp’s December 2020 review tested at 1920 x 1080, 2560 x 1440 and 3840 x 2160. Its system used an Intel Core i9-9900K overclocked to 5.0GHz, an EVGA Z390 DARK motherboard, 16GB DDR4-4000, Windows 10 version 2004 and NVIDIA 456.96 press drivers for RTX 3070 testing. The cards were preheated to steady state before measurements. Those conditions make the results useful as a historical comparison, but not as current-driver benchmarks.

How loud and cool is the JetStream OC?

The cooler uses two 95mm fans over a full-length heatsink, with die-cast aluminium plates. HEXUS noted some flex in the plastic shroud but found the metal plates rigid. The fans stop at low load; in HEXUS’s gaming test they reached about 1700rpm. That is a fan-speed observation from one review system, not a sound-pressure reading, so it cannot establish a universal dBA level or guarantee a particular noise experience.

HEXUS found the Performance and Silent BIOS modes nearly indistinguishable in practice, with both retaining the rated 1815MHz boost. The names therefore should not be taken as proof of a large gaming-performance or noise difference. Actual fan behavior can vary with case airflow, room temperature, workload and the card’s condition.

Will it fit in your case?

Check more than the graphics-card length. The card measures 304mm long, 136mm tall and 60mm thick, taking up 2.7 slots. Its PCB is approximately 170mm long, but the cooler—not the PCB—sets the clearance requirement. A front radiator, drive cage or other obstruction may reduce usable space.

  • Length: Confirm at least 304mm of usable GPU clearance, with additional room if your case’s front hardware intrudes into that space.
  • Thickness: Reserve clearance for a 60mm-wide, 2.7-slot card and check whether it blocks neighboring expansion slots.
  • Height and cable bend: The 136mm height and power-cable plugs need room between the card and side panel.
  • Power-socket position: The two 8-pin sockets sit near the middle of the card. HEXUS found that routing cables there can be awkward in compact cases or tightly managed builds.

HEXUS reported a board weight of 1,261g. The sample remained upright without a support bracket in its test system, so a bracket is optional rather than a required part. A bracket can still make sense if your case orientation, card position or preference for reducing long-term sag calls for one.

What power supply and cables does it need?

Palit specifies 270W graphics-card power and recommends a 650W system power supply. The card uses two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, so check that your PSU has two suitable PCIe leads and that they can reach the sockets without obstructing the side panel. A PSU’s total wattage rating does not by itself confirm connector availability; check its actual cables and the manufacturer’s guidance for your full system.

Is a used RTX 3070 JetStream OC worth buying?

It can be a sensible purchase for a 1440p-focused build when the particular card is tested, fairly priced and compatible with the case and PSU. The large cooler, fan-stop behavior and dual BIOS are useful features, but value depends on the used card’s condition, seller, warranty coverage and price compared with newer GPUs available where you live.

Before buying, verify the exact product code, operation under load, fan behavior, video outputs and both power sockets. Ask whether the seller can demonstrate the card working; inspect for physical damage or missing parts; and confirm what warranty, return period or buyer protection applies. No current retail or used-market price, stock status, warranty status, or information about whether a particular listing is an LHR or V1 variant is established here, so those points need checking on the specific listing. An Amazon or second-hand listing’s price and availability can change.

HEXUS estimated £500–£600 for the JetStream OC in November 2020, while noting RTX 3070 stock was difficult to find at launch. That is historical UK launch-era context, not a current price guide. Compare the live asking price with alternatives available in your region rather than using that estimate as a target.
