Pakistani-founded streaming startup Myco reached the Meet the Drapers Season 9 finale and later secured a reported US$500,000 investment alongside a separate US$1 million SaaS services contract for Draper TV. The combined deal was reported as PKR 420 million (about US$1.5 million), but that total is not all investment funding.

What did Myco win on Meet the Drapers?

Myco was one of seven finalists in the Season 9 finale, which its official episode listing dates to 18 April 2025. The finale page names Tim Draper, Bill Draper and Adam Draper as judges. It establishes Myco’s finalist status, but does not itself announce the later deal. Watch the Meet the Drapers finale on Myco.

Myco founder and managing director Umair Masoom Usmani later said the company completed due diligence and received investment funding as well as the full advance payment for the first year of a SaaS and technology project for Draper TV. He also said Myco received global streaming rights to Season 9. The rights claim comes from the founder; the episode listing shows the show on Myco, but does not establish the legal scope of those rights. Usmani’s statement.

How much investment did Myco receive?

ProPakistani reported on 4 August 2025 that the combined value was PKR 420 million, approximately US$1.5 million, broken down into US$500,000 in investment and a US$1 million SaaS service contract. Dawn published a similar breakdown in branded content on 5 August 2025. The reported US$1.5 million figure combines two different kinds of value: investment funding and contracted services revenue. It should not be described as a US$1.5 million equity investment.

The publicly reviewed accounts do not specify the investment instrument, company valuation, equity stake, executed contract or payment schedule beyond the founder’s statement that the first-year SaaS advance was paid. The deal terms are attributed to the founder and news coverage; the available sources do not include an independent public filing or contract, or separate public confirmation from Draper Associates. What the deal means—and what it does not establish

The reported arrangement gives Myco both capital and a paid technology-services engagement with Draper TV. Those are distinct business outcomes: investment funds a company in exchange for terms that are not publicly detailed here, while the SaaS contract pays for a project. The public reporting does not provide enough detail to determine the investment’s ownership terms or compare the total directly with finalists’ investment-only figures.

Myco has been described as Pakistani or Pakistani-founded. Usmani has also characterized it as a UAE company founded by a Pakistani, so nationality or founding background should not be treated as proof of its corporate domicile.
