PhoneWorld reported that Jazz held 36.62% of Pakistan’s mobile subscriber market in January 2026, followed by Zong at 26.57%, Telenor Pakistan at 21.39%, Ufone at 14.38% and SCO at 1.04%. Compared with November 2025, Jazz and Telenor were down, while Zong and Ufone were up. The changes were modest; the figures do not show why subscribers or market shares changed.
Pakistan’s reported mobile operator shares in January 2026
The table reproduces the November, December and January percentages in PhoneWorld’s March 3, 2026 report, which attributes them to the latest official data. The percentage-point changes are arithmetic calculated from the November and January figures in that report; they are not separately reported official statistics.
| Operator | November 2025 | December 2025 | January 2026 | Change, November to January |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jazz | 37.09% | 36.80% | 36.62% | −0.47 percentage points |

| Telenor Pakistan | 21.51% | 21.46% | 21.39% | −0.12 percentage points |
| Ufone | 13.89% | 14.17% | 14.38% | +0.49 percentage points |
| SCO | Not stated in PhoneWorld report | Not stated in PhoneWorld report | 1.04% | Not calculable from the report |
Source for all shares: PhoneWorld’s January 2026 market-share report, updated March 3, 2026. PhoneWorld describes the figures as official data, but does not link the underlying January PTA share table. The January percentages therefore should be read as figures reported by PhoneWorld, not as independently verified here against a PTA table.
Which networks gained or lost share?
Among the four operators with November and January figures, Ufone recorded the largest increase, gaining 0.49 percentage points. Zong rose by 0.10 points. Jazz fell by 0.47 points, while Telenor Pakistan fell by 0.12 points. These are changes in market share, not counts of customers gained or lost.

The order in January was Jazz, Zong, Telenor Pakistan, Ufone and then SCO. A percentage-point change describes the difference between two shares: for example, Jazz moved from 37.09% to 36.62%, a decline of 0.47 percentage points. It is not the same as saying its share fell by 0.47%.
What the January figures can—and cannot—tell you
The figures show that the reported shares moved slightly over the period. They do not show that customers leaving one operator directly joined another. PhoneWorld’s report does not provide subscriber flows, churn figures, the market-share calculation method or evidence identifying a cause. It mentions pricing, network quality and data offerings as competitive factors, but does not establish that any of them caused the changes.

- A higher share does not establish better coverage, faster data, greater customer satisfaction or better-value packages.
- Market share is not the same as revenue share or profitability.
- The figures alone cannot tell an individual customer whether to switch. Check coverage and signal consistency where you use your phone, data performance, package prices and allowances, and any service or migration implications before deciding.
Subscriber totals provide context, not a January-share cross-check
Business Recorder reported PTA figures for end-December 2025 of 200.55 million cellular subscribers and 150.588 million 3G and 4G users. It also reported December 4G bases of 55.52 million for Jazz, 42.35 million for Zong, 27.42 million for Telenor Pakistan and 19.708 million for Ufone. These are December totals and 4G counts, respectively—not the denominator for the January market shares or a substitute for total-subscriber shares. The report provides context on the scale of Pakistan’s market but does not independently validate PhoneWorld’s January percentages. See Business Recorder’s report on the PTA figures, published January 20, 2026.
How Telenor Pakistan’s later merger affects today’s comparison
The January table treats Telenor Pakistan and Ufone as separate operators, consistent with the period it covers. PTCL had acquired all issued share capital of Telenor Pakistan, and a January 1, 2026 Dawn report said Telenor was expected to continue as a separate legal entity for several months before integration with Ufone, subject to approvals. On July 1, Dawn reported that Telenor Pakistan had been formally amalgamated into PTML following final statutory approval and had ceased to exist as a separate legal entity. See Dawn’s reports on the January acquisition and planned integration and the July amalgamation.

That later corporate change matters when comparing current operators, but it does not alter the historical January figures. Dawn also reported PTA shares for end-May 2026 of 36.42% for Jazz, 26.62% for Zong and 35.91% for the merged entity. Those later figures cover a different date and a different corporate structure, so they should not be treated as the next row in an unchanged January comparison. See Dawn’s report on the later shares.
