Pakistan’s domestic cement dispatches rose 7.35% year over year to 3.788 million tons in September 2026. The rounded “7%” headline refers to domestic dispatches—not all cement dispatched: total dispatches, including exports, increased 5.95% to 4.621 million tons.
What does the 7% September increase measure?
It measures cement dispatched domestically in Pakistan, as distinct from cement sent abroad. News reports citing All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) data put September 2026 domestic dispatches at 3.788 million tons, up 7.35% from September 2025. Total dispatches grew more slowly because that figure also includes exports.
| Measure | September 2026 | Year-over-year change |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic dispatches | 3.788 million tons | Up 7.35% (APCMA data, as reported by ProPakistani) |
| Total dispatches | 4.621 million tons | Up 5.95% (APCMA data, as reported by ProPakistani) |
| Exports | 832,173 tons | Nearly unchanged year over year; a precise percentage change was not stated (APCMA data, as reported by Raised by Numbers) |
“Dispatches” refers to cement sent out by mills; the reported figures are not a separate measure of cement used at construction sites. The underlying APCMA release was not independently available in the reports, so these numbers are attributed to APCMA as reported by the cited outlets.
Did cement exports also rise in September?
No clear increase was reported. Exports were 832,173 tons and described as nearly unchanged year over year. Because total dispatches combine domestic dispatches and exports, the faster domestic growth lifted total September dispatches to 4.621 million tons, up 5.95%.

Why did domestic dispatches rise?
The reports frame stronger domestic demand as the main driver of September’s increase, but the published figures do not establish a specific cause or quantify the contribution of individual factors. ProPakistani also reported that an unnamed APCMA spokesman expressed concern about declining exports and instability in energy prices, and said easing geopolitical tensions were helpful to industry recovery. Those remarks are industry concerns and context, not proof that any one factor caused September’s dispatch results.
How did northern and southern mills compare?
Regional totals moved in opposite directions. APCMA figures reported by ProPakistani and TechJuice show northern mills’ total dispatches fell while southern mills’ rose sharply.
